I cannot get this board to even POST with more than 3 cards installed. I have seen builds with 8-10 cards on this motherboard. Any suggestions of what may be causing my headaches here?

4G decoding is already enabled.

Which processor are you using, Skylake or Kabylake? There have been reports of certain motherboards not able to run cards on all the PCIe slots when used with a Kabylake CPU.

I have same mobo. Latest Bios. 4g Enabled. PEG Auto. iGPU is active and connected to monitor via HDMI.
Win10 X64. G4400 Cpu. Tried with 1 RX 470 and 2 RX 570s (have another 3 RX 570 waiting)

AMD driver: 17.5.1 (16.9.2 drivers copied onto)

1 card OK (of course)
2 card boots into windows but one card hashes very very low (4 Mhs). Actually this card wont go even 1 mhz over lowest gpu/mem clock when I tried furmark.
3 card black screen after bios, win10 does not come up.

Will work on it a little bit more or switch to Linux/SimpleMineOS.

As far as I know this card works with 6 GPUs. Maybe I could not find the right setting or combination with respect to AMD driver, 4G decoding, PEG,iGPU settings and/or versions.

I have the Asus Prime Z270-P and 6x Sapphire RX 570 Pulse Mini's. I got it working with Windows 10 after quite a while. However, SimpleMining just works out of the box, so I'm using that instead.

Since you already have 4G enabled, try setting PEG and PCI Gen to Gen 1. That's really all I had to do to get Windows 10 to boot (it didn't boot at all with more than 3 otherwise).

With SimpleMining, however, I needed those two settings set to "Auto" otherwise it wouldn't work properly.

Thanks for the tips. I will try. Also what about internal  GPU setting?

Was it Auto, Onboard or PCIE in your settings when Windows rig worked withj 6 RX570 cards?

What is it in SMOS rig?

Do you plug a monitor to onboard gpu or one of the mining RX 570s?

I am struggling with Z270-p and 6 cards as well and also planning to switch SimpleMiningOS

I preferred Windows mostly because of overclock, undervolt and modification stuff but I may modify each card to my liking in another Windows machine
and plug into rig to run under SMOS if Windows 10 becomes a headache for the rig.

The iGPU is set to be the primary display. It has a monitor connected to it. I do have a dummy in one of the RX 570's though.

It's the same rig, I just switched to SimpleMining. I'm having some issues with overclocking in SimpleMining though but it'll probably get sorted soon - or I'll have to flash the cards in Windows first I guess.

Thanks. OC and Modding facilities made me choose Win10 over Linux but if only I can make 6 cards run on it I can keep it otherwise I will do the same as you. Mod under Win10, flash bios and stick to Linux/SMOS

One more question if you dont mind. This is my 1st rig ever.

Are all all your cards on risers or at least one of them on the mobo? Is it okey, bad or have no effect for plugging one 1 GPU onto mobo and the rest on riser?

When I was using Windows 10 with 6 GPU's Windows usually crashed at least every 3 hours or so, needing a hard reset. I'm sure it was a software problem but after like 20 hours of testing I gave up and tried SimpleMining instead. So far, it's been working great, except for not being able to overclock the core clock. I should be able to (SMOS supports it), I'm just not sure why it's not doing it. Memory overcklock works though.

I have all six cards on risers. I'm pretty sure it'd be fine to have one or two without risers and I don't think it should impact performance. But I haven't tried so I can't say really.

Wish you profitable mining.

I have same mobo, only tried 4 GPUs, but working good. It sometimes doesn't boot, but it's seems problem with gpu drivers... So set bios to default boot with igpu, use DDU (remove and power off), after that connect all the GPUs, you don't need 4G above for 3 cards, but you can use it. It should boot with low res, install drivers and reboot again, now it should be working good.
I had problem with boot too, than Windows show boot repair options, it eneded with error but now it's start loading like Windows 7 loader instead of Windows 10 loader Cheesy No problem since then.

Is your settings for the following items are set to Auto, Gen1 or Gen something else?

    Advanced-->System Agent (SA) Configuration--> PEG Port Configuration
    Advanced-->System Agent (SA) Configuration--> DMI/OPI Configuration
    Advanced--> PCH Configuration--> PCI Express Configuration

Thanks.

Yes, 4 cards working good. Only 4G above enabled and I turned off those leds.

3 gpu boots and hashed but system fails at booting with error code" Blinitializelibrary failed 0xc00000bb." when I plug 4th+ gpus.

I do not know whether it is mobo or OS or drivers.

I think I will give a try to SMOS

Can you give some details about your BIOS settings and the operating system you are using.

I could not make it work more than 3 cards with Win10 or SimpleMining OS.

It's kinda weird to me too.
But set bios to default, boot with igpu (in bios is better to have auto for gpu, it's still reseting to whatever it want...)
Uninstall AMD drivers, use DDU
Reboot or power off (now you have to connect all gpus if you don't have), also enable 4g above in bios
Boot to windows again with igpu, look if you have all the gpus in manager (there will be only Basic Microsoft...) just the count matters (if not use DDU again check all the connectors)
Now install latest AMD drivers, after that apply ATI patcher.
Reboot (while turning off switch video cable to one of the GPU best is the one in mobo PCIE x16) to be sure go to bios check if 4g above is enabled and set primary gpu to auto again...
Now it should boot with all GPUs I've tested 5 max, it's like ritual to boot this but once you get it you can reboot how many times you want it will boot with all the gpus hopefully.
Hope I could help Smiley

I will keep this info just in case. I did not tried it yet since I managed to make 6 gpus work on SMOS and 5 GPUs on Windows 10.
1 rx 570 is powered and fans are spinning but Windows did not recognize it. Most likely a driver issue.

My configuration for SMOS:  4G enabled, PEG, PCI and DMI all set to Auto. When iGPU is Auto, HDMI cable is plugged into external GPU0. When iGPU is set to CPU graphics HDMI cable is plugged into onboard HDMI port. Both works. 6 cards hash normal. Nothing special yet since no bios mod and/or OC but 6 cards are green at least.

My configuration for Windows10 : Actually similar to what you said. Also PEG and PCI are on GEN1. iGPU is either CPU graphics or PCIE. 1 RX 470 and 4 RX 570 showed up and worked. 1 RX 570 is missing. A DDU and reinstalling driver from the scratch is likely to fix. I did not try .

Is applying ATI Patcher required? I though it was necessary for modded bios only not for stock bios.

My main problem was power setup. I have Dual Evga 850 G2 connected with an add2psu (as far as I know it is not original but a Chinese copy).
My first set up was 3 risers and 3 GPUs on each of main and slave PSU along with all the other stuff on main PSU as well. But only 4 of the GPUs turned on in this setup. 3 on the main and 1 of the slave PSU's.

Some says it should be ok while some says don't do it but power all the risers from same/main PSU and use slave PSUs only for PCIE gpu powering.

Well in my case the latter hold true mostly and partially. I am using one PCIE x16 (as x1) port directly on the mobo and 5 risers x1.

Each PSU has single molex channel with 4 molex connections and 3 sata channels with 4 sata connections each

Config-1
---------
Slave PSU--> 4GPUs and 1 SATA HDD
Main PSU--> 2 GPUs, 5 risers (2 individual sata-molex, 1 daisy chain of 2 sata-molex and 1 direct molex)
                   1 add2psu with direct molex (this molex channel powers one riser given as "1 direct molex" above)

Config-2
---------
Slave PSU--> 4GPUs, 1 SATA HDD and 1 riser on sata-molex
Main PSU--> 2 GPUs, 4 risers (3 individual sata-molex and 1 direct molex)
                   1 add2psu with direct molex (this molex channel powers one riser given as "1 direct molex" above)

As far as I know sata-molex conversion cables are used widely but also they are not advised by some folks because of GPU power requirement and SATA capacity.
Nothing less than a direct molex connection between PSU and a riser is not suggested.

In Config-1, I even used a SATA daisy chain to power 2 risers form same SATA channel with sata-molex conversions. In Config-2, I at least managed to  break chain and used 3 separate SATA-molex conversions.  1 riser on sata-molex of slave PSU in Config-2 most likely will be direct molex since this channel is empty on slave now. I simply did not tried it yet.

Even after this, if I want to power as many risers as possible from main PSU, I am looking forward to at least 3 separate sata-molex conversions for 3 risers and 1 riser sharing a single molex channel with add2psu.

Is using sata-molex conversion cables a really bad idea? Are they dangerous? Rig is running at home.

These two setups worked for me for 5-6 cards depending on OS. If I could manage to power risers and GPUs by distrubuting on two PSUs  (which did not get through yet)       I may get 6 pin powered risers and 6 pin PCIE male/female conversion adapters to use empty 6 Pin PCIE power of VGA cables as I have several 6+(6+2) on the same VGA power cable where 6+2 goes to GPU and other 6 pin is empty.

I know this post is quite long but this is my first rig and I am struggling a lot to learn and share.

Thanks.
