So I downloaded a fresh copy of the wallet (after saving wallet.dat elsewhere)
But ... the problem that caused me to download a fresh copy still exists ...
This message has appeared on top of a orange(?) background bar along the top of the wallet:

URGENT: Alert key compromised, upgrade required

have I missed a wallet update or something ?

This was an issue with us testing a new version of our wallet on our testnet, somehow the alert key was triggered even though the key is not compromised like it says.

Stuck with afew hundred thousand of this DEAD coin. Only $1500 total daily trading volume, not possible to sell and run.  

If your looking to cryptos as a "get rich quick" then you should get out of cryptos.

If you were not a newbie, I would have sent you an offer to buy them from you, but the best I can do is give you advice: CDN has a proven history of Peaks and valleys, one peak within the last 3 months and 3 in its lifetime. If your buying on the valleys and selling everywhere else, then CDN is making you money. If its not making you money then, I say again, you should get out of cryptos.

EDIT : to explain further; Look at the Orderbook tab on Cryptopia, All that Green is people looking to buy on a valley. There is not much red (selling) because people prefer to hold his coin, rather than sell. The red that is there is spread well, meaning lots of little amounts spread out ... looking for the next peak

Accusing someone you don't know of wanting to "get rich quick" or being a "newbie" is a premature assumption to say the least. "Newbie" account status in Bitcoin talk, yes, but definitely not in cryptos.  A long time Bitcoin holder and deeply involved in crypto market.

Messages to newbies dont work... i tried... even asked you to sell them to me a few messages up.
