If you are looking at the coin market cap, that is an illusion.  Site is being used to confuse people about market dominance.  I do not think Bitcoin is declining and infact they are being welcomed by some countries and some of them are Japan and Australia.

What's wrong with the stats given by them? I have analyzed their charts, and found them to be accurate up to 99.999%. Bitcoin has already lost the trade volume battle, in addition to the market cap battle. ETH trade volume for the last 24 hours was around $2.1 billion, while that for Bitcoin was less than $2 billion.
i think just want to make more bitcoin investor to do panic selling to get them more profit on it and after a days just will do more price increase or actively fluctuates its value again and we can make more profit if we do trading method right away.

With the range of people covered, I think Ethereum is gaining grounds but bitcoin is rather in an advance stage, taking a look at it, Ethereum is still in its infancy stage, not much of the world regarding to the ratio of Bitcoin population and usage.  And please take note that a huge amount of ETH with huge funds coming from the ICO is in the hand of its developer so they can do a daily trade with huge volume.  I agree ETH is shining but it is still far from taking over the seat enjoyed by bitcoin.  Coinmarket Cap? let us give them to the coins with a huge number of supply.  Grin.

Why do you guys think Bitcoin is declining in popularity? Looks like Ethereum will pass it. What can Bitcoin do to maintain number 1?
If the etherum will reach the price of .2 btc each the market cap will surpass the bitcoin so by that I think the etherum will be the top currency because the etherum is have a better platform in bitcoin and the transfering of the etherum is fast and no fees unlike the bitcoin.
Ethereum's recent hype is just a bubble. It was not made for being used as money, but for ICOs and smartcontracts, has unlimited supply as it's totally centralized by their devs. May be working on the short term, but Bitcoin will always prevail.

Here is a great article for you to read:

Its because of the block issues. Due to 'political' reasons the solutions arent being implemented.

This is entirely a new platform for the investors all around the world. The difference in price happened due to the big values making the markets to make change based on the situation. Right now the market movement is from the large scale investors who has the potential to fluctuate the price increase and decrease.

I think, bitcoins was the first good crypto, it allowed us to build better cryptos.
Now the bitcoin is a bit aging, some other crypto's have much lower fees, a more secure, more anonymous, faster system.
Personally I see the Ethereum pass first and stay a few years because it solves a lot of problems while offering an improved system.

ETH still have some bugs. ETH is not more anonymous than bitcoin, yes they have lower fees and faster blocks I agree to that. ETH is a bit centralized so bitcoin wins if we talk about decentralization about the whole network. On the other hand there are pretty cool stuff that can be done on ETH network like ICOs and smartcontracts.

I agree with you new coins come and they offer something a bit advanced but this should raise a competition spirit between bitcoin devs and other alts devs. If they want to stay on the top. Alts are good thing in that sense as everyone is trying to build something new and everybody else can copy that code and to implement some features into their own coin.

I dont think any crypto will take place of Bitcoin .

Bitcoin is more popular than any other crypto as of now , if someone talks about crypto the first thing comes to our mind is bitcoin only .

People might be shifting to Other crypto these days because of Bitcoin high fees for transactions . But when things will be normal people will again shift To use Bitcoin .

I think people are  not shifting to other cryptocurrency.  They are only riding the wave of the other currency bubble  to book  a profit.  Then after the hype died down and bubble burst, they will come back to Bitcoin since bitcoin have more usage than any other cryptocurrency that ever been created.

And why do you think bitcoin is being surpassed be Eth, could you please elaborate in more detail? In twenty four hours ethereum trading volumes passed bitcoin trading according to data from CoinMarketCap on tuesday. But I don't think that is sufficient "proof" that bitcoin is less popular all of a sudden. If Eth sustains higher trading volumes over a longer period, then maybe we can say Eth is provably more popular than bitcoin.  It is nowhere near it for now.
The reason many are thinking this is because the market cap of Ethereum has gone very high in the last months and that is why some think that it may end up surpassing bitcoin in that metric, I think it will be difficult for ETH to achieve this alone, a decrease in the price of bitcoin is needed as well.

The main reason is the large transaction fees and high confirmation times. Another reason is the hard fork that occurs on August 1. This is a deterrent to the members in the Bitcoin community. This is why people are moving to different cryptocurrencies. Thus Bitcoin loses its mark as the top cryptocurrency.

BTC is pseudo anonymous, there are other coins as solution for not be traceable.
But pseudo-anonymous also has its benefits. Since the transactions are traceable crime is harder to commit. This means that Bitcoin is more secure in terms of crime prevention.

No, since under BTC is this situation, the electronic money users chose the other carrier.

Whether bitcoin has lost number one in good terms, is there a coin that can not be traced as this initial solution.

Is it possible that bitcoin will soon fix the system in its dome so there is no doubt as a crypto currency.

I think it's not yet happening. Bitcoin is apparently still on top and remains to be the leader of the flock.

Bitcoin is synonymous to cryptocurrency being the first of this kind of technology. It would be a little hard to replace bitcoin.

While etherium is clearly climbing the ladder, the throne is still occupied by bitcoin.

The good thing about the relatively new cryptocurrencies is that they have already added features that bitcoin lacks. They tend to develop more on the aspects where bitcoin seems to be weak.

Utility and fundamentals is really low. People don't just believe that bitcoin can still be the one seeing that development cannot continue due to different ideologies and interests. Also, there aren't much shops to use bitcoin with, meaning economy is being stagnant. The only good thing about bitcoin right now is its bullish nature for trading. That's a plus for traders but not regular folks.

I think it's more about othe cryptos making big rises in both price and use rather than bitcoin being bad, it is still number one and will continue being that for years, but ETH has done what LTC couldn't do in years of taking a section of users and making them a stable base with no buying/selling like regular cryptocurrencies.

If you are talking about the popularity declining due to the decreasing price of bitcoin then you have a misconception. Bitcoin is still the most popular cryptocurrency of all, the ups and downs of BTC price is not a new thing here. I am sure that the price will soon going to increase rapidly as the demand will shoot up high.
