What is the preformance of the 1070 at mining LBRY, Equihash, X11? Would it be worth it to purchase multiple 1070s forward building a mining rig?

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

look at skien,Lyra2v2 or equihash first; they are the most profitable.

Yes.  It's still worth it.  Well worth it.

yeah it's worth it, performance is good, they can hash at 300 for lbry 480 for equihash and x11 doesn't make sense because there are asic for that algo, it's better to avoid with gpu, mine other algo like skein

check out NiceHash's profitability calculator: https://www.nicehash.com/?p=calc --- and whattomine for all the answers you need to determine what you want to try mining. https://whattomine.com/coins

Do you guys recommend using 1070? as I am finding alternatives due to the scarcity of AMD graphic cards.

Planning to initially buy 2 1070's, any recommendations?

My current electricity rate is $0.19.

Thanks in advance.

1070 is the best of both worlds for hashrate density vs price.... a very nice middle ground.

for the more frugal spender;  even 1060's are more than viable @ ~200ea (less if bought used).

Does anyone have experience with the GTX 1080? I'm thinking of starting mining with just one, then slowly add 2-3 more.

I have 3x1080 GTX used on Nicehash they are working fairly well

Currently I get around 7mBTC/day mining on 3 of them.

About 140-150 MH/s on Lyra2Rev2

I see a lot of peapole speaking about skien but what coin ? skien coin ?
There is no skien on what to mine.  Huh

its an algo... there are multiple coins that support/use the skien algo =)  Pools make efficient use of this and divvy up work between coins to miners.

Ignore X11 - ASIC mined for about a year now.

skein, groetsl, lyra2v2, are all good options for the 1070.

Right now, ETH is earning more than ZEC on a 1070 but it's VERY close - and neither is the best option but they're in the ballpark with the recent price rises and the extreme shortage of AMD cards for the big boys to add to their big farms.

The primary skein coins I am know about are DGB-skein and Myriad-skein (both of those are multi-algorythm coins, however).

I've got a couple 1080s, but one just showed up and isn't in a system yet - the other I did some testing on, more or less a tossup on a hash/$ basis on ZEC mining and on skein - but it's doing "something else" not specifically mining related at this point where it's also a tossup with the 1070 on performance/$.

I'm no longer legendary just in my own mind!

AUR - Aurora is also a pretty good earner.  I think it's the primary skein coin....  High value blocks.
UIS - Unitus has quick block times... but, is... not worth much per block.
