Yes a lot of atlcions are there but I think that it is difficult to choose the good altcoin for trading, I think most of the altcoin are dead and some are near to become dead, for choosing the best coin for investment require a lot of study and only then we can find a potentially good coin for investment. |

But for me to maximize my profits in USD I need to wait till BTC is at a reasonable cost. Or do you guys see it climbing to 3k in the next couple of months?

You should only make investment if you are ready. The means of ready is when your knowledge is enough and you have technical analysis skill where you can use in order to make profit in trading of cryptocurrencies. |

As of now the price is way above $2k. So when you have bought Bitcoin last year, then you could have gotten your profit by the end of that year. For now, since the price is not that totally high you better find a way to buy some Bitcoin and ethereum . |

I am wonder why you want to start trade with bit coins where alt coins are available for good online trade. Try to watch videos and increase your experience before investing highly amount .Invest low and chose alt coins only for trade there's nothing do to with bit coins when you're involving with trade. |
