You cant blame the bitcoin for the different cyber or internet crimes that are happening in the present because as we all know, fiat is also used for many crimes.Although we could see that bitcoin is used by some crime websites because of the anonymity that you can get with bitcoin. But that doesnt change the fact that majority of the crimes are funded by fiat money.

Crime can be funded with anything: from cash, gold, silver to bitcoin. So all these methods can be hardly traced, not only bitcoin. I don't see any major reason why bitcoin price would decrease if it is used in crimes. Most surely us dollars are used in crimes daily and the price doesn't fall right? Maybe more people are using cash to do illegal things. Many of them prefer cash because it is easy to carry and there is no record of evidence. Usually they will tell their people. To bring the cash to the destination. Although complicated but it is safer for them

Since Bitcoin was ever released, I've thought of the possibility of this. Will crimes be easily funded now due to bitcoin and it's anonymity? How do you think the authorities will combat this? Will this lead to a decline in the price of bitcoin? I've had this on my mind for a while now and I would like to hear your guys opinions.
What do you mean by crime being funded? Crime doesnt need to be funded because unlike these ICOs it's profitable.

I don't think that Bitcoin is helping the crimes for the funding because the reason behind this is that at the end we need to cash out and to sell offline is really a tedious task for anyone and no one can make easy buy sell of the Bitcoin in offline with unknown without expose of his identity . So it is a hard thing for the criminals to have deals in the Bitcoin and also they if they will make big deals in the online then they need to declare the statement for the bank account that how and why did they are making money . In this way they will probably caught by the intelligence . So we don't need to think whether Bitcoin has a bad impact . This is fully safe in every ways and also public thing in the Bitcoin .

Come on your saying before bitcoin there was no crime exists or you mean to say because of bitcoin crime started meaningless. If bitcoin ban then also crime will continue .Don't take this kind of baseless questions .

This is really a long term problem that existed even before bitcoins had entered the internet. Crimes can be funded through various ways such regardless of the currency you use. It can be in the form cold hard cash, collateral by means of properties and such, or even life as kidnapping associated with ransom. Bitcoins is just and additional means for funding this unlawful acts.
Yes I agree it is unfair to say that bitcoin is the one due to which illegal activities are promoted. I don’t think because before bitcoin there were crimes and still there are. Like any other currency bitcoin may be used somewhere for any unfair means but it doesn’t really mean that bitcoin is meant to promote such activities. It depends on the users for what purpose are they using the currency.

The illegal activities are already there ever since bitcoin is not yer created and yeah we should not blame bitcoin for illegal activities because even the creator of bitcoin doesn't want to use bitcoin in such illegal things that can damage its image in the other people or majority of the internet people but we need to always remember that bitcoin is always created for good and we can't prevent bad things because it is part of our life.

Anyone can use bitcoin, even crime. Not just bitcoin, the other currencies also be used to perform unlawful actions of the criminal, it is inevitable.Bitcoin is not the source of crime, that is due to the way they use them. So we can't rely on that reviews the increase or decrease in the value of bitcoin.

I think the fear of people funding criminal activities through Bitcoin transactions is one of the major reasons countries are skeptical of adopting Bitcoin into their financial system. But then there had been crimes even before Bitcoin was discovered. Bitcoin or no Bitcoin, crime will always find a way of funding its own activities.

It would actually be harder for criminals to fund crimes through Bitcoin than through laundered cash. Both are anonymous, but laundered money has a history that has made it easy to do for those who need it. Bitcoin not so much.

But then there had been crimes even before Bitcoin was discovered. Bitcoin or no Bitcoin, crime will always find a way of funding its own activities. But to take the post you have been quoted, I think it's not that easy to be funded if the currency will be used is bitcoin. First of all, exchanges have KYC verification so here it's clear that wanted persons will avoid it. Another one, if that is the scenario they will be using other people to make verification to the exchanges and withdraw the money to them, it will take time since there is a withdrawal limit and sometimes it was being hold and users will received lots of questioned first before it will take placed. Sounds more activity before making a withdrawal right? So I can see that bitcoin is just an option to them as it was still fast if they will be funded by cash itself.

The only way to fight against these illegal funding through bitcoin is the authorities needs to adopt bitcoin. And after adopting they need to regulate transactions but well this is not going to be an easy job for them as crime doers and law violators are tricky when it comes to this matters.

I do not think that crimes will be funded with bitcoin because there are already some regularities at exchanges when someone want to buy bitcoin and after someone adopt bitcoin then they are rich and no need for crimes.

Well, this is already an issue that is faced by people. Crimes are being funded with the help of Bitcoin and some of these crimes are surrounding the drug trade, there's really nothing we can do to stop this and they're just using the features of our currency (Bitcoin) to stay as anonymous as possible online. Though, I do think that Bitcoin is one of those things that has it's pros and cons when it comes to using it online.
For someone in the drug trade, I think they'd rather take cash face to face rather then doing all this crazy online stuff with a high chance to fuckup at a random point. So this is something they're probably going to think about before selling drugs online, they have to go through tons of loops to 'clean' the money online and to get it out into cold hard cash which is really going to be a bit annoying when they could facilitate all of this in person, and in cash.
So I think it makes criminals go through my loops then they want to, gosh even the government looks over these things with a much higher regard.

Many people commit crimes by using transactions through their bitcoin goals to be difficult to trace and facilitate transactions, It makes the government difficult to formalize bitcoin because easily the crime can do a transaction but I am sure the authorities will not take silence they must have a plan to deal with all this.

It's right that there's no record of evidence if you didn't get caught and carrying the cash but there's also some cryptocurrencies that don't leave its traces. Just for example is monero and there's damn many coins popping out every year with the same feature just like this.

Just recently,we saw some criminals demanded that they need money in bitcoins to free their computer from ransomware. But if criminals want to demand anonymously, other crypto currencies like Monero,Zcash might be the best choice since they are fully anonymous and bitcoin is pseudo anonymous. So funding crimes by bitcoin would not be a wise idea for criminals and it would not be carried out in future.
