It's not a surprize that everybody are trying to earn money on the wave of bitcoin's pipularity and it's high price. But there are many places where transaction fees are not so grabbing, you just need to search for it. I think bitcoin made rich many people already and it's just only the beginning.

Hi,

Even just a year ago bitcoin was useable... now the fees are about 10x what the banks charge. Seems like its changing from a peer-to-peer money system for everyone into yet another convenient way for rich people to exchange funds!

What went wrong> And more to the point, who is responsible? What can be done to fix it?
Thanks
Andy

I think this has improved a significant lot already. This was posted during the times when the transaction fees go really outrageous.

Evereybody is trying to make as much money as he can.
Miners as well. When the people are willing to pay the high prices, I can't plame the miners if they take it.
Besides, not only the fees have increased, the price of bitcoin as well..
Let's see what happens when segwit kicks in next week.

Of course bitcoin is not for the rich only. You can login to an exchange and buy a few dollars of bitcoin today.  Do not look at the absolute numbers, look at the relative ones.

of course not. Everyone can have bitcoin, but with hard work. Well, bitcoin is not for people who are very lazy. Even you can also produce bitcoin with lazing. Bitcoin is not only made for the rich, but for everyone in the world.
Yeah right, this thing made for every one you. It doesn’t need good looks or much money to use them. Only thing that it requires is hard work. If you are poor then its not a big problem. Just start working really hard and you will be able to achieve what you always wanted. The only difference is that rich people have to do less hard work than poor.

I think they are making statement like this because they are thinking that since bitcoin is getting expensive and expensive, they can't afford to buy one.

But the thing about bitcoin is that you can earn it without doing some investments.  There are a lot of tasks and jobs thatyou can made to earn bitcoin. If you are skilled and very knowledgeable, I think you can just put a smirk in this topic.

People will be always complaining about transactions fees, bitcoin price, volatility and lack of central control.
I bet that nay-sayers who now cry that bitcoin is expensive were pessimistic about Bitcoin future in the past.
These complainers refused to buy bitcoin while it was still cheap like dirt and now they are crying that bitcoin is only good for rich people...
What a joke.

The fact is that bitcoin isn't only beneficial for the rich alone, even those who are poor also share the benefits of bitcoin.
And in bitcoin i think there is no difference between rich and poor, we have the same rights to be able to do bitcoin transactions, either for business or for payment transactions.

I'm poor, but I invest in bitcoin. Bitcoin does not belong to the rich. Bitcoin is mine, ours (belonging to someone who wants to own it). The Bitcointalk forum has opened up many opportunities for you. Take advantage of all this

I agree to you on this one, somehow as the price of btc gets higher fees also increase. I don't know if it is becoming more of a bank but it shouldn't be that way.hopefully someone can fix the fees in transferring btc.

Probably stating the obvious, but just because each full bitcoin is over $4000 doesn't mean you need to be rich. It doesn't change the price of items you purchase, so you just spend smaller fractions of each coin for each burger/hotel room/computer part.

If anything, the increasing price of btc (up to a point/limit) means that the consumer items are getting progressively cheaper, which would benefit both the rich and the poor.

Anyone can buy and sell bitcoin and it doesn't matter if you are not rich because bitcoin is not for rich to use it but for also the poor to become rich. Bitcoin can be the bridge for us to become rich but it needs a lot of work ethic and also perseverance to become rich so i don't think that bitcoin is only for the rich.

How do you think poor people or people in poverty regions will buy bitcoin? It's expensive like hell right now.

I agree. I have started asking to be paid in BTC for some things as well. The great part about it is that you don't need to actually buy BTC to get started in BTC. People who can't afford a $4k BTC can sell things for fractions or request that payment for services are in BTC.

Bitcoin fee is high, its crazy how high the fees are getting, but this high is unnecessary

because according to Gavin, Bitcoin's transaction fee structure will be redesigned at some

point.
