Any XRP holders are interested in the growth of their value. And given that the commission is burned during transactions, the price of this coin in the long term will go to the top.

Some people hate Ripple but I still choose to NOT selling my XRP!

This is why:
- they are still alive, many coins from 2014 are almost dead, Ripple NOT and in top 3.

Ripple has working software, many coins just don't
15 of the top 50 banks work already with Ripple

Hackers stole $81 million from the Bangladesh central bank in February last year after gaining access to its SWIFT terminal

Ripple employs over 150 people
Some coins have just one or two...

SBI Ripple China
https://ripple.com/ripple_press/ripple-strikes-multi-national-deal-with-sbi-holdings-to-meet-growing-demand-for-ripple-solutions-across-asia/

SBI Ripple India
state bank of india (sbi) is the government bank whose transaction is much more than another banks of india, if this is write that sbi approve ripple transaction then all other banks of india will definitely approve ripple then, INDIAN BANKS means a huge jump to ripple (total no bank 18 private sector bank, 28 public sector bank). IN SHORT what sbi did all banks of india definitely copy that.
alone sbi has more that 13000 branches in india huge news for ripple.

More countries and banks will join Ripple in the future

Ripple to Place 55 Billion XRP in Escrow to Ensure Certainty of Total XRP Supply
I don't see this happening with other coins.
https://ripple.com/insights/ripple-to-place-55-billion-xrp-in-escrow-to-ensure-certainty-into-total-xrp-supply/

Further Decentralizing the XRP Ledger
As we continue these initiatives to further decentralize the system, XRP Ledger will inherently become even more resilient. A key benchmark that we aim to achieve is to become more decentralized than Bitcoin, which at the time of writing is 51% controlled by just five mining pools. This means the largest five pools working together could achieve a 51% attack and reverse transactions (double spend) at will. For Ethereum, this number is even lower: only three pools are needed for a takeover. To match Bitcoin, XRP Ledger would need just 16 trusted validators. Add more, and the number of tolerable faults increases accordingly. In other words, XRP Ledger will not just meet, but exceed the decentralization level of other public blockchains.)
https://ripple.com/insights/how-we-are-further-decentralizing-the-ripple-consensus-ledger-rcl-to-bolster-robustness-for-enterprise-use/

Ripple can scale to handle the same throughput as Visa, but more reliably and at a lower cost
https://ripple.com/insights/ripple-continues-to-bring-internet-of-value-to-life-new-features-increase-transaction-throughput-to-same-level-as-visa/

500 times faster then bitcoin

I don't care if they helping banks. I still need my bankaccount. I don't see any differents in 5 years.
That's why I see a good future for Ripple.

Nice thread, thanks for the information. I also think that Ripple will get some huge attention in the next couple of years! They have big plans and theyre going to grow up, I am sure! Smiley

I agree with you many people here on bitcointalk hate ripple because they just have a prejudice to it. They say it's not a "real" cryptocoin, it feeds the ol' banking system, etc.
But I disagree with you about price. In my opinion XRP will never reach high prices. They may be good for day trading but not for long-term holding.

I have huge quantity of XRP in my portfolio and have a long term view on it as it has a very good low fee product for global banking institutions and already tied up with many global banks and also in talk with many others. It is consolidating from last 3-4 months at this price and can shoot up any time.

I have read the full article on XRP and the system is doing really well. And I'm not saying that it's like "oh, I can not use bitcoin in my grocery store, why would I buy it". The fact is that my local grocery store will eventually accept payment by wages, but I do not think they will accept ripple payments. To say something like "XRP is a rogue because it's not necessary for ripples to work" you have to think that Twitter should be building its own network that requires you to use Twitter rather than end up. push and develop the Internet.
I am holding onto my plan and slowly add as much as possible.

There you made the misstake. XRP is not a payment method but a transaction method. The way you pay your merchant will stay the same (or eventually will include BTC payments). XRP comes in after you paid the merchant and is the transactions between the merchant and the bankaccount.

Another example is paying wages. If a company (at least in europe) pays wages, it can take a business day for the bank to complete the transactions and deposit the amount onto your bank account. With XRP underlying technology it can be done instantly.

100% agree. I've actually been doing some pretty extensive research on the top 10 coins as of now based on market cap, in attempt to land on the right one for future gains. Still stuck between Ethereum and Ripple but maybe theres room for em both as they have different functions/purposes.

Ripple might seem slow, but it sure has a great future.
ripple seems to be moving for quite some time those who manage to bought with the dip are already gaining again, xrp seems to be for long term and people are always positive those who knew how to wait and willing too, holding small numbers of xrp and trying to ride together with str.

You have pretty strong arguments, but anyway I don't like ripple to hold. I suppose banks don't like volatile currencies which can decrease/increase instantly. It's just cant be forecast. So it hardly could really be the way of banks work.

Likewise. If in doubt, wait it out.. I think ripple is still a good long term hope, shame most people in the crypto world are more concerned about short term gains.

I totally understand how the community feels about XRP not being decentralized.

However, it is important to understand that the Banking system wouldn't adopt the coin if there wasn't enough control.

In the end it will be decentralized, still be secure and faster.

I also believe in XRP/Ripple and hoping to improve the services that the current banking system is offering!

They will indeed fix a big problem in today's society!

HODL! Ripple is one of very promising coins. I beleive it should grow in 2018! When you invest in coins like Ripple you should understand that reward won't be tomorrow or in one week. It could take months.

I agree. I hate the current banking system and would love to see it go down in flames and replaced by a decentralized currency, but realistically, that isn't going to happen. Not any time soon, anyway. However the banks will need to adopt to the new landscape and implement blockchain technology eventually, and I think thats where ripple comes in. Could take a while, the industry is ran by dinosaurs that enjoy being able to print money willy-nilly

I strongly agree with the OP! I'm also not selling my Ripple. I bought mine when the price is around 15k. I'm reading lots of good reviews about Bitcoin even though it is not decentralized. Aside from that, its developers are very active and very reachable. I believe that Ripple has a good future. I will keep on holding it for long term investment.
