That's a cool setup Sundownz.
I like your idea of a modular setup using PC's with just a few GPU's and then just trying to do as many as possible.

Sundownz, Admiring your setup! Can you advise on what you run on these systems? What OS? Are you on a network with a domain controller, or just workgrouping them together? Are you running any anti-virus on them? What apps are you using to mine and manage your rigs? -Good to know your build can withstand the NC heat; I am in Richmond, VA, so pretty much in the same boat. Thanks for the ideas! Paul

@Sundownz - Just to confirm, you've not been able to get any TI (1070TI, 1080TI) cards working on the Z400 , have you?
I think they may require UEFI.
Wanted to see your take on this? Thanks!

I actually have 21 pcs of the 1070 Ti cards on my Z400s running no problem so far. There is a MUCH more recent BIOS available... I always flash mine to version 3.6 before adding hardware.

Paul, 1) Windows 10 Pro on all systems - I keep them all 100% updated as well. 2) I use built-in Windows Defender & also my whole network is behind a hardware firewall 3) Right now I user a variety of miners: a) Nemosminer on all nVidia GPUs - running on ZPOOL b) I use Cpuminer 2.4 on all my CPUs to mine Yescrypt - running on ZPOOL * I used to do ITNS on all my CPUs but had issues getting IP banned on the pools... but Yescrypt is doing me well. c) I use SGminer on most of my AMD GPUs for Cryptonight (ITNS) d) I do have one system with 3x VEGA-64 and I use Cast-XMR on it (ITNS) 4) Right now I don't have any remote admin capacity setup but I am working on that after my vacation: a) I am looking into the iBOOT Web PDU units : http://dataprobe.com/iboot/ b) Software side I am looking at either putting Team Viewer on every system or getting minerstat.com setup c) Right now... I check my pool stats to see if miners are online and I have someone at work reset them if needed & I'm not around as my mining setup is at my business.

Thanks. What I expected to also see is the processor capacity for your mining project. This was not explicitly explained as it is very necessary information in this regard.Hope this shall be provided in the next explanation. Thanks once more.

Sundownz; thanks for the backoffice explanation. I travel a lot and have a need to manage my rigs remotely. I do most of my stuff over RDP. I have already setup my boxes to auto boot and auto login. This is what I use to get Win 7 Pro to auto login:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\winlogon AutoAdminLogon = 1 (String Value Key) (0 means off, 1 means automatic) DefaultUserName = YourUsername (String Value Key) DefaultPassword = YourPassword (String Value Key) DefaultDomainName = YourDomain (String Value Key)
Hopefully this nugget helps someone else. Took me a bit of googling to figure it out.

Specifically my CPU mining power ? Right now it's almost all on Yescrypt -- 120 kh/s of power. I do still have a few systems that I built early on that I haven't upgraded to the X5660 CPUs yet -- so when I do that will climb more. Looking at Whatomine... CPUs making as much as ~$1400 per month.

Hello. I am in the research phase right now of this.
Considering the Dell T5500. Are you/have you used the dual processor capability of them or are you strictly using GPUs for hashing?
If yes, have you used the six-core versions of the Xeon processor?

One of my T5500s has an X5650 six-core in it (came with it) -- so they do support them & I do mine on all my CPUs. I will be upgrading the other one to an X5660 when I get free time as it has a slow quad-core in it. I have not tried to use the dual CPU capacity in them.

Been on vacation since Dec 22nd.
No issues related to the Z400s at all.
I did have one system go down due to either a bad GPU or PSU -- which I will troubleshoot when I get home. The Z400 will produce a beep code if something is bad (so I have yet to see any failure of PSU, GPU, or Riser cause a cascade and take out any other hardware) -- I simply had one of my employees shut that one system down and unplug it in the meantime.
Cannot complain about these things at all... ROCK SOLID.
Ordered 12 more for the 5th rack that I'll start later this month =)
