Poloniex made a mistake closing down troll box?

They made a study on this one, they do not just close it without properly analyzing the possible outcome, still it would
 not change the reality the poloniex is one of the biggest exchange site in the crypto world, without the trollbox we are getting more serious
and we will not be affected with the hype and fud that we read.

Actually limiting it to say people with level 2 authorisation would be a great idea, you would avoid a lot of the scammiest people you find there from that alone and it would be far easier for the moderators to moderate.

There reason is they need their support staff to do some serious things than just watching the chat in the trollbox, lol, for many years it is only now that they realize. I actually having fun reading the trollbox, especially when the coin you are holding are pumping, it will you feel more alive.

First thing to do on a exchange is to avoid the trollbox.
Dont mind it now its gone.
A support chat would be better.

Trollbox is the most engaging feature on any trading site. At the same time one can keep an eye on the pumps and dumps also but without trollbox it will be too monotonous.

I do not believe that poloniex have done anything bad by closing the troll box for the purpose of answering their piled up support tickets, but there might be a better way of doing it, they could hire more staff and train them for supports and let the troll box continues.

If i have to chose between the supports and troll box, i will chose support over troll box though they are both important.

I dont really found it necessary, Bittrex also doesnt have a trollbox. It's all in the name, largest amount was trolling.

Part of me feels like Polo might have just sorted their support problem by shutting down the troll box, but not in the way they might think. Surely users will start using exchanges with a troll box as lets face it, a LOT of people post in there and it tends to keep people on the website longer?

Genuinely hope they activate it again but time will tell.

The thing is that there aren't a lot of other trading platforms where a trollbox can be found.

The biggest competitor of poloniex right now, bittrex, does not have a trollbox. Bitstamp does not have a trollbox. Localbitcoins does not have a trollbox either.

It's quite uncommon for anyone to have a trollbox at this stage, polo was one of the few because it takes a lot of moderating. But this just shows that poloniex is 99.9999% going scam. Unresponsive support and now nobody to reach to live. Not even moderators. Get out your coins, i still don't get why people are trading there with volumes of 50000 btc daily.

They should better fix the withdrawal and verification problems first! Now that the trollbox is gone, polo should have more people for support

i think its not mistake, because from what i see, in the trollbox, there too many spammer than real people that needs help from the moderators. its like in other market, if someone have question, its not solve righ away but its hidden by the others talk. i think its a good suggestion if poloniex fix their support system because its too slow to give the answers.

I have mixed feelings about the trollbox. If you can skip the hype/Fud spam sometimes there was certain interesting advise. The problem was if you were trying to follow some dialogue, it wasnt always easy. So lets see what the following days will bring. But to be truthfull i ended up doing more trades, good or bad, in polo than in Bitfinex for exemple, and i think hat was because i was reading the trollbox at the same time.

Yes it's always fun reading the trollbox people talks hilarious things when the coin they are holding are pumping. But I never listen with what they're saying there it's just pure hype.

Let's do that now.

Pick an IRC network you prefer (like freenode), make a channel in it (like #poloniexTrollBox) and tell everybody to go there.
And with kiwiirc you can even go there from the web. Easy.
The hard part is to find some dedicated people to keep the channel alive, moderate it and so on.

I will surely not cry after Polo's trollbox. Imho they did good.

There are very less exchanges with trollbox... and polo trollbox was temporarily disabled

i dont think there will be difference having those number of trollbox.because people will troll even in different boxes. unless someone will moderate it. for instance if someone will troll about the pumps and dumps on the support then, it should be moderated since it is not intended for that area.
