It is a bit hard to predict the prices in the next five years because there are regular and frequent fluctuation in the market, and one just cannot say exact statement about it. A good and educated guess backed by data from the past years and keeping in mind the current market information can lead us in a direction that might be a bit reasonable. I think ETH might cross $5000 value in the next five years and might even go beyond that.

I could see ETH easily over $2,500 this year, but beyond a year out, it is just too hard to predict, IMHO. So many new coins coming out, markets in such a volatile state, in the end it will all come down to continued development to maintain, or grow its current position. If they can hang onto #2 spot, then I think $2,500 - $8,000 in the next year or two.

Five years is a bit long. If Ethereum will reach around $5,000 at the end of the year 2018, by the end of 2019 Ethereum will definitely be at least $15,000. i think that the price of etherium after 5 years would be 4000$ to 5000$ and maybe it surpasses the value of bitcoin and i believe etherium could go a long way and has a brighter future ahead compare to bitcoins due to most ico's are under control of eth smart contracts and almost new tokens today are mainly based on eth erc20 token.
