It is really imposibble. $500,000 is really big amount of money even though that the bitcoin is gaining more power nowadays the bitcoin will never achieve that value. But I think in that year that you say the worth of the bitcoin will become $20000 and up.

Regularly the acceptance, adoption and the legalizing of bitcoin is increasing, so surely there will be an increasing demand causing more users to use it same as they use traditional currency. So based on the demand the increasing will happen which might take the price as high as $500000.

I would say that $500,000 can be high but there is someone who predicted that Bitcoin can reach a million dollar value within 10 years or even less...well am not really inclined to believe on that prediction not unless it is already true and I can verify it.

But who would not want to wish that Bitcoin can reach that level on 2030? I have a little Bitcoin and it can help me by that time if my hoard can be so valuable so that I can retire with ease.

I think its possible to hit $50,000 because there were be another halving that is happening and it will contribute to bitcoin being scarce. So the demand for bitcoin will be very high but the supply is low. So the price can skyrocket to astronomical level including $50,000. It's possible that bitcoin can hit $500,000 but I really don't know if that is going to happen by 2030. With the growth of bitcoin, everything is possible but I'm looking forward with the price of bitcoin at lower price ranging $10,000-$20,000. This is a long dream, it is as good as saying between will hit $1M. i have casts my vote but i think it is too early for us to discuss this because bitcoin is yet to hit $10K which might not be this year.

There are various ways of calculating all kinds of scenarios, where each time a higher number pops up, but at this point they all have no value. You have to realistically look at current situation, the growth that we have gone through, and from there come up with something not too conservative, but at the same time also not too unrealistic from todays standpoint. By that time I surely believe that we have surpassed the $10,000 level easily, but haven't got even close to reaching the $100,000 level.

In less than 10 years Bitcoin has managed to grow in value to about $2800 with some adoption resistance here and there..
and if it goes another 5 years as top cryptocurrency we should expect more demand as more people try to get their hands on the crypto and by 2030 It will rise but not as high as $ 500,000 maybe 10k to 30k dollars sounds more realistic.

yes I am sure that it will happen in 2030 because from now 7 years ago the price was very much lower and in this 7 years the increase in price was very faster and if the speed of the price remained the same then in the coming 13 years I am sure that it will reach to that price.

Maybe by the year 2050 Bitcoin hits $120,000 but $500,000 is just way too much for a currency I don't know why would any body mines a coin costing them something like $400,000 to sell them for 500,000? no sane person would do that, you know the electricity would be wasted and so many ASIC will be needed, Bitcoin needs to change by then I assume.

Too many variables to account for, but I'm comfortable to guess it's not $500,000.
Even with 13 more years of variables to play out, still not going to say $500,000 per BTC.

Stranger things have happened--as I've said in other threads, I did not expect bitcoin to be at $2800 anytime soon.  So half a mill in 13 years?  Yeah, could happen.  Do I think it's going to?  Nah, not really.  I do think we'll be much higher, but $500K is quite high.

The real question for me is whether I'm ever going to actually save any bitcoin.  I have a problem with spending it +/- trading or selling.  I really need to just save my sig campaign earnings.

I think if it really happened the bitcoin price could reach $ 500,000 of course this is luck and happiness that is invaluable for bitcoin users, but whether it is just our hope all or someday it will really come true.

Realistically? No... Looking at the current trend, it's easy to see why experts would assume that. Bitcoin and most crypto currencies have been bullish over the last 2 years so I wouldn't be surprised to see bitcoin close to $7000 at the end of 2017.  $500 000? That's a huge number as bitcoin has many issues it has yet to overcome such as network congestion. Wouldn't be surprised if it's another crypto currency that takes over from bitcoin...

I am vey optimistic, I am sure it will really reach that price or more Though it will reach even  $50,000 IU am already happy for it. There are many analyst are saying this, but  I think they are saying this for other people to hold so that it will not affect too much on  prices. But also, if you are aware on news, there are also countries now accepting and even many country are following to do so. Its a good news really, it will create more demand.

Yes, there is a possibility for the bitcoin to reach this mark in the year 2030 or mostly before that year. There are several factors associated with it such as government's approach (whether they recognize bitcoin in terms of legal/economic aspects), the possibility of the alt coin boom (I don't see much probability for this one) and the most important factor will be the fees and blockchain size. If we can somehow keep control on the fees and confirmation time then I don't think OP's figure is impossible to achieve.

yes right bitcoin  will not hit $500,000 in the year of 2030 it is impossible because $500,000 is very high much more price and I think the bitcoin price will hit $20k or $25k in year of 2030 and I  hope bitcoin will be very more popular that time as compare to today and all over the world government accept bitcoin .

No. This will only happen if everyone buy, but you are forgetting the fact that many have already invest a ton whole of Bitcoins, so when the price experience a major increase, many will start selling those Bitcoins hence the price can't even get far.

Unless there is some global crisis where money becomes obsolete, so do you think that would happen?

I believe that it will. We all know that bitcoin is becoming more popular these days. Modern technology may require a certain coin or currency to be used in the future to made transactions easier. I believe that bitcoin will be the currency to be used in the future.

I got it will rise but not so much. I'm actually quite surprised about how many people actually chose "i'm sure it will" instead of any other options. Maybe i'm wrong since everyone else seems to be confident about their choice...

Anyways, although this prediction has some credibility as it is made by Snapchat's first investor it is probably based off nothing but gut feelings. And I understand that sometimes gut feelings are actually more effective that all the analysis crap. I see bitcoin slowly going up in boom-bust cycles in the long term, with 1 halving being one cycle. In my opinion it'll usually double the price per cycle. In my opinion $100,000 is extremely possible and i would say likely if fiat collapses, but $500,000 which is the price of a small apartment seems unlikely.

This is too fantastic a growth forecast for bitcoin. He has a perspective, but there is no guarantee that war or anything else will not bring him down.

You just assume that there won't be anything holding back Bitcoin's growth, but that's not how markets work.

At some point we will go through a stagnant year because there simply can't be a constant level of demand pushing the market forward.

Each market experiences a major crash once every few years, and Bitcoin is definitely not an exception. It might be an artificially initiated crash, but the main point is that these crashes are healthy for the market.

It allows coins to change from owner and to attract attention from people that were waiting to enter the market, but didn't do so because of the price. That's how you attract fresh capital.
