[POLL] Will Bitcoin hit $ 500,000 by 2030?

This is an interesting question.   To even visualize it somewhat properly I started by ramping this forward and imagining that bitcoin mining reward drops to 1.5 BTC/Block next week.   Will bitcoin value jump to $500,000 or drop to $1?

Too many variables to account for, but I'm comfortable to guess it's not $500,000.
Even with 13 more years of variables to play out, still not going to say $500,000 per BTC.

So I'm going with never ( or more specifically not by 2030 ).

It is very possible that bitcoin will hit $500,000 by 2030 if adoption still continues to grow in the next coming years. I know it might be hard to reach that price by 2030 but I believe that bitcoin reaching $500,000 by 2030 is possible so I guess it might reach it. For now all I can do is wait to know if it will really reach that price by 2030 or not.

I think if it really happened the bitcoin price could reach $ 500,000 of course this is luck and happiness that is invaluable for bitcoin users, but whether it is just our hope all or someday it will really come true.

Realistically? No... Looking at the current trend, it's easy to see why experts would assume that. Bitcoin and most crypto currencies have been bullish over the last 2 years so I wouldn't be surprised to see bitcoin close to $7000 at the end of 2017.  $500 000? That's a huge number as bitcoin has many issues it has yet to overcome such as network congestion. Wouldn't be surprised if it's another crypto currency that takes over from bitcoin...

I am vey optimistic, I am sure it will really reach that price or more Though it will reach even  $50,000 IU am already happy for it. There are many analyst are saying this, but  I think they are saying this for other people to hold so that it will not affect too much on  prices. But also, if you are aware on news, there are also countries now accepting and even many country are following to do so. Its a good news really, it will create more demand.

Some experts say that we're nowhere near a bubble. A true bubble will occur when people around you (in real life) get to know bitcoin. Since there will ever be 21 million bitcoin we might see a very high price over time.

On 2030? Kind of hard to speculate and decide if by that time bitcoin will be that high. The movement of bitcoins price is rapid. And starting from the day bitcoin was launched the highest peak is $2,900. 13 more years to come, I guess it will happen when each of btc's problem is solved.

Yes, there is a possibility for the bitcoin to reach this mark in the year 2030 or mostly before that year. There are several factors associated with it such as government's approach (whether they recognize bitcoin in terms of legal/economic aspects), the possibility of the alt coin boom (I don't see much probability for this one) and the most important factor will be the fees and blockchain size. If we can somehow keep control on the fees and confirmation time then I don't think OP's figure is impossible to achieve.

It is really imposibble. $500,000 is really big amount of money even though that the bitcoin is gaining more power nowadays the bitcoin will never achieve that value. But I think in that year that you say the worth of the bitcoin will become $20000 and up.

yes right bitcoin  will not hit $500,000 in the year of 2030 it is impossible because $500,000 is very high much more price and I think the bitcoin price will hit $20k or $25k in year of 2030 and I  hope bitcoin will be very more popular that time as compare to today and all over the world government accept bitcoin .

No. This will only happen if everyone buy, but you are forgetting the fact that many have already invest a ton whole of Bitcoins, so when the price experience a major increase, many will start selling those Bitcoins hence the price can't even get far.

Unless there is some global crisis where money becomes obsolete, so do you think that would happen?

I wouldn't mind if it hits that high, then probably everyone will be rich. How does that even work?

$ 500,000 is a huge amount. I'm not sure if this can achieve what you predicted. There is still 13 more years, I might just be optimistic at nominal 20,000 $. But all things can happen quickly. I can not say who is right, let time be the answer to everything.

This is one of those predictions that has a very high of going completely wrong or in the opposite direction. 13 years a lot of time, anything can happen for all we know Bitcoin wouldn't even exist and some other crypto would have taken its place.

I believe that it will. We all know that bitcoin is becoming more popular these days. Modern technology may require a certain coin or currency to be used in the future to made transactions easier. I believe that bitcoin will be the currency to be used in the future.

It is really possible for bitcoin to hit that amount by that year. It just 2017 and 2030 is a very long time for the future of this world and bitcoin to be promoted. No one know what the future will hold but I believe that bitcoin will have a big and an important role in the future.

I got it will rise but not so much. I'm actually quite surprised about how many people actually chose "i'm sure it will" instead of any other options. Maybe i'm wrong since everyone else seems to be confident about their choice...

Anyways, although this prediction has some credibility as it is made by Snapchat's first investor it is probably based off nothing but gut feelings. And I understand that sometimes gut feelings are actually more effective that all the analysis crap. I see bitcoin slowly going up in boom-bust cycles in the long term, with 1 halving being one cycle. In my opinion it'll usually double the price per cycle. In my opinion $100,000 is extremely possible and i would say likely if fiat collapses, but $500,000 which is the price of a small apartment seems unlikely.

Said bitcoin will have the next halving in 2020. and the price will be doubled. There are some years for bitcoin to achieve the maximum price before the halving will have happened in 2020.
but my thought if you must remove a zero from your decimal and make it will be more reasonable for me.

This is too fantastic a growth forecast for bitcoin. He has a perspective, but there is no guarantee that war or anything else will not bring him down.

You just assume that there won't be anything holding back Bitcoin's growth, but that's not how markets work.

At some point we will go through a stagnant year because there simply can't be a constant level of demand pushing the market forward.

Each market experiences a major crash once every few years, and Bitcoin is definitely not an exception. It might be an artificially initiated crash, but the main point is that these crashes are healthy for the market.

It allows coins to change from owner and to attract attention from people that were waiting to enter the market, but didn't do so because of the price. That's how you attract fresh capital.
