Somebody hacked my blockchain wallet

I noticed this unknown transaction from my wallet: https://blockchain.info/tx/8ddb65817b8e64e9f077eff82eb93dfcedf401a78f796d496d8f2f57db003a08


I did not make this transaction and I don't know how could someone access my wallet when I get a confirmation link everytime I login to my wallet. I did not even install any unconfirmed software. I am now sure that blockchain is unsafe and I need to use another wallet which is more secure fo my coins. I lost 0.057 because of this which is my hard earned money.

Can anyone trace this wallet?

Have you ever exported your private key and kept some where unencrypted ?

I guess that must be the only possibility to get your balances spent without logging into your wallet as per you are mentioning about email alters for logging in to blockchain.info wallets. (I am trying chasing down that tx, will update here if I come across anything positive). Sorry again, I know value of your hard work and how much it pains on losing it.

Without using a weak password and taking all precautions, I'm scared that it will or can happen again. I did not even get any notification of the bitcoins being sent and you may be right. The hacker sent the coins without logging in. I am now cleaning my entire PC and reinstalling windows to remove any malware.

Sad... If it was a security issue within the site, You wouldn't be the only one and it would be everywhere in the news.

If it's not a typo then you should really scan your OS and taking care no shit is in... For some online activities it is better to use a Virtual machine that you can install in few minutes. So if you get infected, only the virtual machine will be

^Yes, it was a typo. I installed McAfee but it did not detect any antivirus. I am trying to now depend on offline wallets and use it on another machine that doesn't have access to the internet. Hopefully this doesn't happen again but I've noticed it happening a lot with these online wallets.

Hacking and stealing of coins is very frequent here, but it is surprising that someone managed to steal coins from an experienced member like you. Did you took all the necessary precautions, such as 2 Factor Authentication, Email verification and 2 passwords? How can the hacker get hold of all this information? And which anti-virus suite you were using?

I've only been warning against using them for keeping BTC for a few years now... perfectly fine for watch-only addresses though.

Except 2FA, I had taken the necessary precautions. I did not activate 2FA as people were complaining of not receiving the code and hence not being able to access their wallet. But I feel it's my PC being vulnerable to a virus and hence I've rebooted it. I was using Kaspersky.

You learned the hard way. Now enable 2FA on all your accounts from wallets to exchanges. It would also be advisable to set up another wallet. If possible, change your OS to Linux. Its more secure.

My email is safe but somehow my account got compromised. I could still login to my wallet but it was too late when I got to know about it. It happened on 7th and I got no notification and I checked this on the 9th. The user deals in ponzi websites which is the only thing I got to know.

Sorry for your loss - unfortunately there is really no way to do anything about this as bitcoin is indeed anonymous or at least semi-anonymous. The best you can do is to use walletexplorer to see where the funds are sent to, but nothing else could be done.

Is it possible that it was some friend/family that actually did this? Not saying they did but, it seems odd that the hacker was able to gain control of your account in a remote location without you receiving any confirmation email. There is a second scenario where your email account was compromised as well. Change your email password now though to make sure that the hacker does not know your current password and is able to read all your confirmation emails and delete them afterwards.

I'm sorry for your loss,once again is proved that online wallets are not safe for storage&safekeeping of our coins.You seem to have made a wrong step somewhere and hacker used that.It's possible you picked up somewhere keylogger so hacker is collect all user names and passwords you type on your PC/or maybe you are a victim of a phishing.

It would be good to know how this exactly happened,if you have any new info please let as know.

Ive been using blockchain wallet since in the past and even stored up huge sums for about max of 2 btc and seeing on the situation seems like you email got compromised because its really impossible for a hacker to get inside the wallet if the email verification would be needed this is also acts up 2fa,Sorry for your loss and I do feel it when we lost money came from our hardwork.My advice to you is change first the password of your email and if you suspect that your pc is infected on some virus or what then better clean it off.
