It's been confirmed that Charlie Lee has worked his last day at Coinbase and will be working on LTC full time.

This with the recent hiring of another full time developer will help speed up the integration of the Lightning Network, MAST and confidential transactions. Give Charlie a bit more time to promote LTC as well.

Additionally, litecoin goes live on Bitstamp next week.

litecoin is now being better than bitcoin as the transaction time is normally lower than bitcoin and most of the time has lower fees. leading litecoin to a better alternative of bitcoin. steady pricing normally means its popularity is not enough though.

It was a very long time since I heard news from Litecoin.  Eventhough it was down to top 6 this year, it has been in the market with a very high stability. I do hope this news will give good influence with the investors.

i wouldn't call it a "long" term investment but as i said for the reason above it is a profitable investment.
and it is not just about faster transaction, that comes from the fact that it has faster block generation (it is about 15 seconds). it is about scaling issue. and the fact that transaction fees are currently getting closer to $1 and it doesn't even have remotely as many transactions as bitcoin has!

they keep saying some features will be added to fix it and another hard fork is on the way. but it remains to be seen if it is even effective.

Many of us who has interest in litecoin wish it grows from the stage it is now as litecoin project is one of the best crytocurrency project and also one of the oldest project that has not have opportunities to be pump. this not a good news for litecoin but not for bitcoin, i don't like it, but what they need to do is amking litecoin more accepted like bitcoin, why it's not the case anymore? i remember that litecoin was accepted by few big shop in the past, why they removed it?, i feel like litecoin have a point with the best block limit, as a side work for bitcoin

I really trust litecoin even though I know it's a clone. Just waiting for segwit update and coinbase listing. If we achieve these ones, there will be a huge effect on the price.

That's good news. I have heard that some BTC users and miners are moving to LTC. Hope that Charlie capitalizes on this.
