If want to mine ETH, don't get the 1080. The memory is not as good as on the other GTX 10 models. I get 25 MH/s. The 1070 gets ~30 MH/s and the 1060 ~24 MH/s and those are cheaper than a 1080. The 1080 Ti gets ~37 MH/s but is $700+. The 1080 is good for ZEC though, I get 550 H/s at 70% TDP. The GTX 1070 is currently the best overalll Nvidia card for the price IMO.
Hi, What model, miner an settings you use to get 24MH/s on 1060? That is a really good idea to get the ITX versions which costs cheaper. Do they have the same hashrate as normal gtx 1060 3gb or they have a smaller one ? I don't intend to resell as with the actual price of bitcoin ROI is just 45 days for such cards. And which is the best ITX version to get ? Maybe I am thinking to go with this idea but I need the best brand, ZOTAC maybe in this area of ITX ?
Won't 3GB will be obsolete if ETH will increase DAG? Also i would vote for dual fan version, cooler and more reliable if one fan dies... Though performance should be the same.. BBT posted a video of the 6 card rig he built with the PNY GeForce GTX 1060 3GB XLR8 OC Edition 165+ GPU 1000+ MEM ~23.5mh ETH and ~268 SOL/s ZEC each @ ~60W per card. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uhSfOpvHks&feature=youtu.be&t=7295Dag won't reach 3GB until early next year. The only problem with the 3GB cards you won't be able to dual mine.

I am not locking the thread only because other opinions are welcomed, I am reading this until tonight where I will decide definitely which way to go, so thanks again to anyone who helped.

Just out of curiosity, what OS are you all using to mine NVidia cards with? Traditionally I've used ethOS because its easy to scale, but from what I understand its not NVidia friendly.

I'am on Win10/x64 382.33 drivers with 2x1060 6GB (+400 on memory). Mining with Claymore v9.5 in dual mode (+SIA at ~33 dcri) and ethermine.org reports 41.8 MH/s (reported) and currently 38.0 MH/s (average, but miner was down for some time). System takes 300W from the wall. Also this takes 3% fees on ETH and 3% on SIA

I have a Palit Storm X GTX 1060 Dual fan 3 GB and it goes with core clock +65 and memory clock +650 to 22 Mhs in Eth mining when I am using Nicehash mining software. It runs stable without errors with this overclock, the only problem is its extremely high temperatures near the 78 grade celsius. It still within normal range of temperatures Nvidia said to me as this Nvidia card can run up to 92 or more grade celsius.

Hi guys,
I have a MSI GTX 1070 Gaming Z Core clock = +100 MHz Memory clock = +450 MHz TDP = 52% Power draw = 120 W for the GPU Zcash hashrate = 425 Sol/s. Efficiency = 3.54 Sol/W
I wanna buy a Palit GTX 1080 Dual OC (price - 583 $) because the difference of price between the Palit GTX 1080 Dual OC and MSI GTX 1070 Gaming Z (price - 563 $) in my country is of 20$. Should i go with the Palit GTX 1080 Dual OC? Does it have a good Zcash hashrate ?
Best regards !

back in winter the cards were sitting at 60 degrees or even lower
this is the name
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 Mini ITX OC, 8GB GDDR5, 2x DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort (GV-N1070IXOC-8GD)
Yep, 1070 GTX mini cards are awesome for GPU mining, I also grab a 1070 Mini from Galax to put together with my Titan X Pascal. I think I will buy another 1070 to add later to my PC, nice hash power and good price.

My MSI 1080Ti Gaming X settings for Ethereum mining:
80% TDP (if I go 75% it drops over 2 mh/s) -400 GPU (won't allow more) +700 memory (could go higher but I think it's risky) Fan speed automatic, temps about 65C.
Hashing at about 36-37mh/s. The system is drawing 650W from the wall, but it's my gaming machine. It's a hardline water cooled build with 11 fans, a pump, a 4.7ghz cpu, about 15 USB 3.0 peripherials and some other stuff.

those are some interesting stats! make me think I should buy a 1080ti and cancel my rx580 orders... ETA to arrive 30 days :O

Cool, I'm about to add a second 1070 ITX to my rig, just a question, this Gigabyte mini card blocks the blower fan of the 1080Ti Aero? Not even by a little? Can you take a picture, please? I know the card sizes, but just want some confirmation. tks
