Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

In all seriousness now, the best way to keep new people coming in is probably to continue moving the decimal place and calling the common unit of division a 'Bitcoin.'
Those who already use BTC will understand it and adapt. Those who don't won't be confused and scared off by, 'I want to buy bitcoins, wait I have to buy 350 Satoshis? WTS is a Satoshi?"

You don't even know how close you just stepped to the truth with that sentence. Did you have a glance at the secret proposal by any chance?

I'm not sure I proposed this one already.
An atom is something that can not be broken apart (well, at least in the etymological sense). Most atom names end in "-um" (germanium, silicium, lithium, ...).
So what about "Satoshium" or "Bitcoinium" ?
