Looks like it can be useful in a number of situations.   I'll post more on it with some photo when it arrives and when I have a chance to test it out.

Thanks klintay.

Glad to see I made the list  Cool
One interesting test will be to see how it handles my Lenovo tablet (not laptop). With the right power source it will pull up to 2.5A when being used and charging at the same time. With most 'charging' adapters and powered hub/splitters it does not charge while being used and in fact the battery (much more slowly) goes down...

Selected as one of the testers, will post results of the product here. Test will be using the Gekkoscience Compacs and 2Pacs and finding the highest stable voltage.

Ok, I updated the testers list. We went with 6 this time because of demand. No more available now. Sorry to everyone else who didn't make the cut.
Samples will be sent shortly.

The Eyeboot USB Mini 2-Port USB 2.0 Hub Splitter arrived today.

It went straight from the box to the PC (Win7).
I attached a 2Pac and started up cgminer.
It has been mining normally with all default settings for an hour with no issues so far.

I will provide a more detailed post once I run through some more test and collect some relevant data.

I'll continue to update it there as testing progresses.

Sorry I'm late to the party but thank you for including me.

I will be testing this with my 49 port hub running 10 gsd orbs, 3 gsd blades, 4 2pacs, a nano bit fury and a GAW miner. I also have 4 rock miners running on a rass pi so I might add them.

Thanks again klintay!

I received my splitter today, and will begin testing it by week's end.

Characteristics I intend to test:
  • Powered output and use on connected hubs
  • comparison between phone charger and powered splitter for phone charging speeds
  • Use of miners on Raspberry Pi which is also used as a NAS

Checked and as of a few hours ago mine is still in Hong Kong but 'has cleared' so...
Was going to test it charging/running my Lenovo tablet but using the nifty USB power meter stick I got now highly doubt the Eyeboot will do devices with 'smart' charging built in.

Per the meter stick on a normal port or even BC1.2 the best the tablet pulls is 5.1v @ 0.9a (4.59w) and 1.4A (7.14w) respectively, enough to charge when off but if tablet is on battery still drains but much slower. On the Lenovo adapter... 11.2v @ 1.5A (18.8w) and of course runs/charges fine. Pretty sure other tablets and phablets will have same results if the Eyeboot tops out around 5vdc.

Just mentioning that.
My biggest interest will to see how it works on the end of a 25' passive USB cable making it a power extender vs typical active extenders which just cleanup the signals BUT suffer voltage/power drop on the long run Wink

I have been meaning to put together a review thread for the splitter, but things have been really busy. I will soon.

The device works wonderfully, and has been providing adequate power downstream to my other USB hubs. I have few communication problems on my gridseed miners now, where I used to need to restart them daily when not using powered hubs.

Its also packaged quite beautifully. Honest criticism is on the power brick, but I typically dislike how big they always are.

Full thread and pictures coming soon.

Forgot to mention I posted my review here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1779423.msg19844628#msg19844628

Very nice USB hub and shipped very quickly to the US with no customs issues/ anything else whatsoever. Great for USB mining, both sticks worked well except for the fact that due to the weird orientation of the Gekkoscience 2Pacs you can't run two 2Pacs simultaneously but you can run a 2Pac and a Compac at the same time.

I received the device in the mail a few weeks back, but due to some misadventures while moving a short distance across town, I have yet to post my review. I am hoping to have it up before the start of next week.
