For those seeing ethereum as a good hedge against Bitcoin, look at the market right now. The whole crypto shakes when Bitcoin crashes.

The marketcap is moving closer to Bitcoin's, the price is going up like never before. Lets give ETH some time, I can see that is about to bury Bitcoin.

Its true that the market cap of bitcoin is near to bitcoin but that doesnt mean ethereum is stronger than bitcoin.

I know that ethereum is trending and it's increasing because of the mining and people that are mining with gpus but I think that ethereum popularity will drop when they move to PoS
Ethereum isn't stronger than Bitcoin, I agree. This might be because Bitcoin is being around longer than Ethereum. Only If Ethereum was older than Bitcoin, we would have saying a different story. Ethereum is been around for how long? But it's already competing with Bitcoin. There is no any other altcoin which achieved what Ethereum has achieved today

"Take Over" implies that the market segments are exactly the same. Between BTC and ETH, they're not. By the way, Isn't ETH partially backed by JP Morgan?

For those seeing ethereum as a good hedge against Bitcoin, look at the market right now. The whole crypto shakes when Bitcoin crashes.
We know that the price of altcoins are pegged with bitcoin, if the bitcoin gets shaken and all of altcoin gets impact by bitcoin too. But in my opinion, if ethereum is good to be as the silver for crypto. And not for litecoin itself.

It's already very close now, it's just a matter of time.

How can you say that, ETH is way behind BTC in terms of price and market capitalization and for ETH to take over BTC still a very long time needed.
Yes that's right ETH is far behind BTC, maybe ETH can take over btc in the next 10-20 years, it can happen if BTC continue to experience down and abandoned. Grin
I just don't think it will take that long, it might happen within a period of five years

Impossible to find investors on 9,000,000$ daily who will keep this SCAM and never sold.
It why it crashing now

You are right! This will maybe continue for a few weeks, but ultimately this won´t work.
ETH will trade in the single digits in the near future.

People, who bought at 300 $ or more are going to get screwed!

NO, and never !

Since the last big ICO the ETH-blockchain is suffering form overload,
multiple big exchanges had to disable their ETH withdrawals today.

But it will become even more worse,
because of the difficulty-bomb being activated,
https://etherchain.org/charts/difficultyBomb
which will lead to block-times around 30 seconds
until mid of august (doubled).

Taking into account that the ETH-blockchain is overloaded now,
without ever reaching the transactions of bitcoin
https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/transactions-btc-eth-ltc-doge.html#3m
imagine what will happen with a doubled block-time !

I think there are few reason for this. ETH is much cheaper for investors compare to Bitcoin. I think people are thinking that BTC pump has hit its peak, so they're investing in ETH instead. We'll have to see in few months once BTC price has become more stable.

The marketcap is moving closer to Bitcoin's, the price is going up like never before. Lets give ETH some time, I can see that is about to bury Bitcoin.
I think that is for small time increase the price , which is usual for everytime .
Because I remembered that the last time price of the ETH when rises then was about 0.11btc but it get crash and came at 0.086btc ( minimum ) but after that now it get increases to 0.148btc so now it again get crash and it is now at 0.13btc avg. .
So instead of the investment of the money in the Bitcoin and ETH , we should take care about the pricing  value that is speedily increasing with small small crash .So if now if it again rise to 8 times the current price then it's value will be equal to 1 btc which is not a small amount for 1ETH coij holder .
well here I would like to advice to put the money also in the dash coin which is near to the grow like ETH .
And I think in the incoming years they will become the two comparable coin for the Bitcoin to give competition .

Yes it is true, if eth wants to take over Bitcoin then ETH must be pumped heavily.

Look at the ETH network now: it's just a massive backlog of transactions that cannot be mined...
(some ICO's requiring ETH are challenging the network due to high demand.)

imho, ETH is just proving that it cannot scale.

I shorted 50% of my ETH. I bet it will continue to drop if liquidity remains an issue during high load.
#LTC may be the new answer.

The bubble is popped now and it almost blocked the ETH network. Am seeing this message on Coinbase:

Ethereum Transaction Delays
Ethereum transactions are on hold while we investigate an issue. Recent or new received and sent transactions may remain pending longer than expected.

Already down by 10% and who knows when it will stop.

I think it takes a long time for ETH to compete with bitcoin. Maybe this time ETH is very warm to be discussed because of its high price and its popularity. But I am sure bitcoin will always be number one in the world of cryptocurrencies

Indeed at this time that the market capitalisation of the ETH based very close to the bitcoin but could not replace the price owned bitcoin. but it could be said the possibility of a profit owned ETH will always be side by side with bitcoin because I see there is a potential there is ETH so as to make the price is also increasing along bitcoin
