I think that is a photoshopped picture. Look on the PCB-side of the dual-slot plate where the DVI connector should be. You can see what looks like the other side of a DVI connector.

Yeah its not a good price. They are probably thinking the retail 1060 will be out of stock everywhere and people will have no choice and buy that.

It's as real as a rumor gets and I agree these things aren't a good deal IMO -- this could be a huge flop if they offer no better performance, what's the point? and a 3 month warranty that only saves $25 in cost? There is also GTX1080 versions of these cards coming, these below are based on 1060. https://videocardz.com/70254/asus-colorful-and-msi-showcase-their-mining-graphics-cardsCryptocurrency forums are filled with the information about upcoming mining cards from AMD and NVIDIA. We can’t confirm if all details are correct, but mining cards are a fact, it’s only a matter of time before start seeing these cards in stores.
The first and most important information is that there at least two SKUs for miners being prepared by NVIDIA. Allegedly there’s a GP104-100 card in the making, based on GTX 1080/1070 design. We don’t know yet how many CUDA cores are enabled, but since GP104-100 is said to be paired with GDDR5X memory it may as well be GTX 1080. These cards are said to be more efficient than normal GeForce cards in cryptocurrency mining (~30 to ~10% depending on SKU).
These cards will only have 3 months warranty, but it’s unclear where they will be sold and under what conditions. According to the rumors, these cards will start shipping to customers this month.

Could be useful for miners, given they sell spare parts for the cards.

The only thing that makes sense to me is that the card manufacturers are repurposing production yield fallout, cosmetically defective or repaired cards. To incentivize this card, it would have to sell for $100 or mine at like at 60 Mh/s @ 50 watts.

$226 is a bit high, but the card SHOULD save 20-30% on power usage at the same clocks vs a consumer version. It should also run COOLER - which implies it will likely last longer than a consumer card in mining usage.
If they got it under $200 it would get significant attention from the mining community.
That 1080 based card though is rumored to be aimed at the $350 range - given it would ALSO see significant power usage reduction and cooler running, THAT is going to get some interest *if* the price is close.
I suspect they're going to be available to small folks, if only through certain "large" dealers buying them in bulk for resale. I could easily see ZoomHash selling them, for one example (and using a bunch more in their own farm(s) in WA).

Fake news. There's no mention of this card anywhere but in rumors. There's no info on it outside rumor websites and most definitely not on Asus website. If you google this card the very first page appearing is bitcointalk Even if the rumor is true this card makes no sense. Low resell value, can't use it for gaming, same price of 1060.

Exactly the same I thought, this cards look like they are dumping refurbished cards with artifacts or other video errors. But as pointed the price makes no sense as it has almost no resale value outside of the mining market. Here is the "ZOTAC P106-100 Product Introduction Sheet 0.1": http://imgur.com/a/xtxWYI received the same brochure from two independent hardware suppliers.
