These are not AMD they are all NVIDIA. AMD didn't confirm on making any mining GPUs.

there are both option, but nvidia is more promininet with release, amd is usually late, but what matter is the speed when you compare it to the gaming version, if it's not very above that oen it's pointless to buy imho, and the no dvi is bad, i can't sell this when the roi is done or the profit is killed

Given CURRENT pricing on RX-series cards, the prices unfortunately DO make sense.

With the recent Diff increases and todays price plummet, not for much longer I'd think.

ETH profitability, even with todays price crash/correction and the huge surge in network hashrate over the last 2 months, is still a lot higher than it was 3 months ago.

On the other hand, the drop *MIGHT* convince some folks to back off on further "massive farm expansion" - depends on how many of the bigger farms are in super-cheap power areas that can probably weather the long-term drop long enough to achieve ROI.

Also depends on if the past week is more of a "correction" (which is what I strongly suspect given fundimental factors behind ETH in particular, among SOME of the other coins affected) or the start of a collapse.

Yeah there are already a few places where you can pre-order these cards however the pricing makes no sense what-so-ever.

Yes, this GPU is what I've made bios mod for. 1x DVI-D video output.
It had only Samsung memory... pretty sweet 30MH/s and more if you OC.

Just saw these doing my daily newegg check, and HOLY SHIT the pricing is insane.  480s were $50 cheaper less than 3 months ago and I got a 580 8gb card earlier this year for the same price.  They also are limited to ONE per person.  I feel bad for anyone that buys into these.

Overpriced, yes. But not as bad as paying $350+ for esssentially the same card on eBay USED and with NO warranty.

Sapphire now has 3 of it's cards listed on Newegg.

Only one in stock though was https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=14-202-292 and they're limiting it to 1 per person as of when I ordered mine - which I should have early next week.

I figure I can at least get it MOSTLY paid for mining, and I have other uses for AMD cards long-term.

I also don't see the "mining specific" cards having a big effect on pricing for a while - still too much demand for cards in general.

That's out of stock now too (probably due to people creating mutiple accounts and shipping them to addresses that they own). These cards will be less valuable after mining and so they are pretty much obsolete after mining, buying these is a little bit of a gamble. Unfortunately the "better" value cards for gaming like the 1060 and 1070 are now selling for inflated amounts of price too, so gamers can really only buy low end or extreme high end cards for good value nowadays.

They won't be obsolete after mining - there will be some small value to folks running dual-card Crossfire setups or folks with directX 12 games.

Resale value is not likely to be GOOD though.

Per my discussion with the NewEgg rep, it appears that the card I ordered never was in stock - "yet" - and is due sometime in July.

I've not noticed much effect on GTX 1080 pricing yet, but it HAS been shifting a bit on the bottom end and availability seems to be dropping.
EVGA earlier today only had *2* of their GTX 1080 models in stock on their webstore - it's not just NewEgg - and I am pretty sure that EVGA bumped pricing a little on at least some of their GTX 1080 models vs. a month ago.

Haven't seen any effect on the GTX 1080 ti.
 YET.

Hello everyone, so i just picked up a 11256-31-21G to try it out and every time i try to do a simple memory strap windows gives error 43 after restart. i can OC the card to about 25.600 Mh/s @ around 83 watts (GPU). any suggestions?  Sad

error 43: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported an error
Driver version: 22.19.171.257

Update 7/16/2017
well as the name implies noob here. I got the error 43 to go away, the secret was the atikmdag patch to make the error go away but then i played around with different drivers. see results for my experience.

Failed
Driver 16.9.1 - couldnt see sensors such as temperature
Driver 16.10.1 - same results

Success - YAY
Driver 17.7.1 - max supported at time of writing on the atikmdag website (saw all my sensors) and worked on my RX-580

Process
Installed Driver 17.7.1
restart
Ran atikmdag patch
restart
modified memory timings using UberMix v3.1
restart

Results
Default settins (Afterburner)
Core Voltage 0
Power Limit 0
Temp 85
Core Clock 1206
Memory Clock 1750
ETH only using claymoore dual mining: avg 25.045 ish
Watts (CPU only, CPUz): 78.6 ish

I personally don't know many people who run crossfire setups (for gaming) and few people do. Most people are looking to just get one card, and for those folks output will likely be very important. As you said, resale will be minimal if there is any at all. 1080 Ti prices have not gone up yet and it's not likely to as ETH price continues its downward trend and difficulty rises/

I know a few folks run dual-card setups - it's particularly nice under DirectX 12 when games support it specifically (Ashes of the Singularity for example) as you don't NEED to mess with crossfire / sli any more. and have a lot more flexability about mix-and-match while still getting useful gains on framerate.

I didn't say it was COMMON though, which is why I specified "Resale value is not likely to be GOOD" - it's just not going to be ZERO like some folks claim.
Also, most modern monitors support DVI-D, even though TV's rarely do so, so the Sapphire cards in particular WILL have a resale market, though it might take SOMEWHAT of a hit due to lack of HDMI outputs.

I just wish they'd left the holes in the plate where they removed the connectors compared to a standard Nitro, or opened up the plate MORE instead of closing up those holes - the fins on the heatsink are orientated to blow air out that way and having more open space would help cooling noticeably in a case and a little even in an open-air riser rig.

I've not tried to BIOS mod my card yet - haven't gotten around to trying to do so on my original pair of RX 470 cards, as they're not being used for ETH mining and memory strapping doesn't MATTER to their primary usages.

The cards that have NO video outputs are going to be the ones with very limited resale value.
