I'm a Catholic and straight guy. I also have some friends gay and lesbian and that was fine for me if that's what they want. They can be who they are but that doesn't mean I support same sex marriage. That is not a simple things especially in a religious country.

Who really cares, let them marry if they want it wont change my day.
It's only bullshit religious groups that's stopping them because some imaginary god has told them it's wrong.

Dont you find it interesting, that ALL religions abhor upon the idea of two men starting famly together? Perhaps you are the one running wild with your imaginations, since those religions obviously reflect laws of nature far better, than your little ape brain does.

Marriage is legally binding process for the purpose of starting family, not assurance of mutual masturbation for the years to come.

i do not know why people are interested in getting married of the same sex, it is absolutely insane and weird, marriage is an institutional base, it is the foundation of any society, without this bondage you can not imagine a family or society, so it requires male and female for the purpose of regenerating the family, without different sex person how can one give birth a child?

You not understanding it shouldn't really have anything to do with their choice to get married right?  I'm sure you don't really understand how your cell phone communicates with the cell tower/antenna, but it doesn't have to be illegal to use a phone right?

Not every straight marriage chooses to have children.  And even though that may something you have difficulty in understanding, it's still their choice.  In that same way, gay people should be able to choose whether they want to be married.  There are financial and tax benefits that they would otherwise receive, and some people want to be part of that social institution.  Maybe they can see it as a symbol of commitment.  The reason isn't even important.

Its funny how you guys act as if marriage is all about a family...

Why do more than 50% of marriages end in divorce? That's not good for a family

Are you saying infertile people shouldn't be allowed to get married?

Are you suggesting a fertility test before marriage?

Nobody has cared about fertility or any of this shit before gays wanted to get married, so why now?

Could it be because you hate gays and will do anything to harm them?

Look at yourself... you're being a goddamned bigot... hating on someone you don't understand simply because they are different... grow up

I have nothing against gay people but i am completely against the concept of gay marriage, their act alone is already an abominable one, one which animals dont even initiate. But since they are human beings like all of us, they have the right as long as that right doesn't infringe of my rights and beliefs.

Same here, I support their relationship but it's not easy to support same sex marriage in a religious country, specially the stigma of people on same sex relationships.

What is the need for a marriage for these guys? If they want to live together, then no one is objecting about it. But the problem comes when they want additional benefits and payments, which are normally limited to the heterosexual couples.

Depending on where you live, society progresses, sometimes beyond the policies that were set.  Instead of making societal progress fit into ancient laws, we can update the policy to reflect the current state of society.  There was a time where people labelled as witches were burned to death.  We had slavery based on the colour of your skin.  Women couldn't vote.  Once we find out that these laws are bullshit, they require updating.

Homophobia and treating gay people badly or giving them less rights is nothing new.  But there are many places in the world that has progressed past this - mostly developed nations that are less religious.  Undeveloped nations that are more religious will struggle with this, but you can see that one type of thought is leading and the other is trailing.  It may take an extra generation or two for undeveloped nations to accept this, but it will happen.

Look at the top gay friendly cities in the world https://www.lonelyplanet.com/travel-tips-and-articles/the-most-gay-friendly-places-on-the-planet/40625c8c-8a11-5710-a052-1479d27666fa

Don't you find it odd that many of them are also rated the top cities in the world to live in?  Tolerance or acceptance for those that are different makes for a better society.

Some countries or state have been accepting this kind of marriage. Here in the Philippines, we do not recognize it as legal or something like that. How about in your country?
In my country is not allowed a similar marriage, there is no law to legalize it.
The majority of people do not support the existence of similar marriages.

Yes, if they want to live together, stay together, but do not need to get married. Marriage is valid if there is a groom and bride, not between two grooms or between 2 brides. Homosexual marriage has damaged something called marriage.

I'm against same-sex marriages, because it's disgusting. I do not want that in the event of an accident when I die, my underage children could adopt and educate gays. I grew up in a normal family and want other children to see a normal family. Such people need to be treated or isolated from society so that they do not propagate their mental disorder.

I am not in favor of this. Even before, as what you can read Genesis 19 on the Bible, God destroyed the cities Sodom and Gomorrah because of their vices and homosexuality. I still believe that God created a man to be with a woman and vice versa. I don't have anything against LGBT as long as they don't harm other people. But as I've mentioned earlier marriage should be holy and should be in God's terms.

I'm not favor of same sex mariage because as a Christians it is prohibited by the church. The bible once said "only opposite sex can be together by the blessing of God who creator of the beings" that's why it is okay to be lesbian and guy but when we say marriage it is sacred to be violated.

Yes it is true.  Marriage to be solemnized by a priest or weddingnin a church is too sacred.  It is enough that they were lesbians and gays but to be married is beyond it.  They are crossing the line.  Maybe they should know their limits.  Yes, they love each other but being together is enough.

It should be someone's choice if they prefer to marry the same sex as them why stop it? Most of the world has learned with 8 billion+ people we really don't need to reproduce anymore as much as we use to when the population was less than a billion. Nowadays we also have had technology advances which only make it easier to reproduce even if you're gay.

Hi I'm  speaking from Philippines also.
Yes same sex marriage is still not accepted in our country and I believe that it is because of the influence of our society and religion. Obviously it is not accepted by the church because it is based on their belief, from bible. Next is our society, it continously limit what we want because of ruling general truth. However, I believe that it cannot affect their status of being a human as long as they doean't degrade anyone.

Then why dont you spread same sex love where all the reproduction is done these days? Like Africa and middle East... oh, wait. I forgot, they would kick you so hard in the ass, that you would search for it in the google maps.

Why the fuck should we amend family structure of entire society for a minority, that is completely fine as it is and consists of maybe 5% of all people?

Why? Who does it serve? Guilty conscience of liberals?

There was a time when a white man would say "Why amend the laws and set slaves free? It is completely fine as it is."  But once you put yourself in the shoes of a slave, who never chose to be born a slave, then it isn't completely fine.

So as a homophobic and intolerant person towards gay people, of course it is completely fine to keep old traditions.  Being gay or straight isn't a choice, so maybe put yourself in the shoes of a gay person.  What are your options?  Pretend to be straight to appease people that hate you, or have less rights?

One could ask who it serves to prohibit gay marriage?  Does it only serve intolerant people?  Who wants to serve them? lol
