Ive returned to the forum after long inactivity for the second time now, and remember that last time I needed to do something to prove that my account wasn't sold and it was still me.

I would like to do this again to prove my identity (if I remember correctly, thats the purpose) and show my account was not sold.
I am digging up my old wallet from a backup as I type.

Can I have a quick run through of what I need to do?

I searched your account in the Bitcointalk Account Price Estimator and it showed up some addresses linked to your account from 2014-2016. If you still have access to them, you can do the same procedure to recover a hacked account (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0) and post your signed message in here.

Okay - I will bear that in mind for any future messages.

Looked at the BTC transactions on some old wallets not connected to the forums. I sold all of my BTC for 30.00 GBP, and it is painful to see what it is worth now!

Glad to be back, now to start earning BTC all over again - sigh.

One of many cases of the negative affects associated with this exploit can be found here. Briefly, default trust member, master-p, built up his trust rating by infiltrating one of these networks to build up his reputation and scalp users to his escrow service.
