My kind of junk then. It is worth $2500 as we speak, and it could potentially be worth ten times more in a few years time. This piece of junk has a whole eco system built around it, has made millionaires of many, and created it's own industries and jobs.

Some people are still working against Bitcoin, they are playing a negative role in the virtual world, but Bitcoin is going with its own spirit, and we people are getting experienced about it, so there is still nothing to worry about Bitcoin's termination...day by day Bitcoin is becoming a profitable sector of investment and saving...

There are people like that in this world. They don't want others to succeed in life. Maybe the author didn't understand bitcoin that is why he is saying negative things about it. But I think he is outnumbered because every day more and more people are really finding bitcoin a good chance to make their lives easier by investing or earning through it.

I believe in bitcoin and I am sure that current slide in price is just a phase and it will be over soon. Bitcoin price was down due to the normal market practice. It is just building up its ground and soon will break the previous pricing record. So I am not worrying and I take this opportunity to buy more bitcoins for my savings.

If you look at the price now,it is recovering and it has crossed $2600,it was just a correction and i think the main reason was that bitmain came out with a scaling solution which created much uncertainty and people started selling off without thinking twice and that is how the market works,people used to react pretty fast and then it used to recover after a couple of days and that is what happened here,@OP Brett Arends is the garbage here as he thinks bitcoin is used solely for gambling and money laundering.

The author thinks that it is mainly used for gambling and so he made up his mind that all the crypto currencies have no real world usage,which i think is a dumb analysis,i am sure he has no idea what economics is all about and i think the blog is meant to reach to a wider audience and a click bait with all the dumb stuffs.

If he had one bitcoin his stand would have being different,he thinks that it is used just to gamble and launder money which is another stupid way to look at things,if he thinks that can be achieved then there is a lot more to that than just use it for gambling,gambling chips from casinos would have being a asset according to his assumption

The article has a point. But I think as soon Bitcoin progresses and achieves the ultimate mainstream media attention, the purpose of Bitcoin will be further enlightened. Shops and store will begin to accept Bitcoin. But it all depends on the future.

It's a good article and has an own point, I agree with you bitcoin will be more powerful in the near future because of people who enroll in this community each day. Since article was 5 years old, I would not say Bitcoin is a complete Garbage now because there are lot of people now that change their lifestyle because of Bitcoin including me. This is a prove that Bitcoin is very innovative, bitcoin 5 years had a lot of changes from Bitcoin today.

Well, at least there is something like an enlightened post here that shows unbiased analysis of bitcoin.

Indeed, while the article is clearly a critic about the existence and the foundation of bitcoin, it has a point nevertheless. And, yes it is true, new ones are emerging nonstop, crypto after crypto. But the article is also showing figures, not just simple figures but in billions. Which means even if there are critics of this new technology, the demand is simply rising rather consistently, reflecting trust from people.

Altcoins aren't going to replace bitcoin.

And there is no "rumour" that suggests that ethereum is going to be the "new bitcoin". All it had done is simply come close to bitcoin's market capitalization which in my opinion will probably not be the case in the near future as more and more people move their funds out of ethereum and into bitcoin in search of better liquidity and trading opportunities.

I would like to read the take of those people who had similar mentality back in 2011-12 and they refused to invest even a penny in the Bitcoin. I agree that we should not consider past performance as a reflection of the future but bitcoin has introduced its potential over the time and new concepts are enough to draw a picture of the future of infinite possibilities of the bitcoin. Bitcoin is garbage those who fails to see its potential.
