Hey all, just started bitcoining. I have a 4890 and it only shows up as 2 Mhash/s. At first it was 50. Card is running at normal speeds, nothing is being throttled, and this seems a bit low, so what gives?

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

What mining client are you using? You should be getting ~97 mhash/sec

What miner are you using?  If you're using something like GuiMiner (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Video-Tweak/GUIMiner.shtml) it should be trivial to select the GPU client.  2MH/s sounds like CPU to me.

If you are getting 2 Mh/s It might be your CPU doing the work. Guiminer has a drop down menu called device. Check the menu and select the right one.

No way you would get 2 with a 4890 - I have a 4850 and I get between 70 and 78 depending on the OC.

Re-download the GuiMiner from a different, perhaps official source and read all the instructions (although it should be fairly easy to set it up). Good luck!
