Kprawn used to argue against increasing the block size.  It would be plain hypocritical to argue for Litecoin, because the higher block speed is almost the same thing as having a higher block size.

Litecoin only has lower fees because:

-It currently has less transactions sent over it
-Higher block speed
-SegWit already implemented

that is a bit too high given the market cap but 1/4 of BTC price would make sense; so 500-600-700$?

It is digital silver and silver was always better for monetary purposes while gold was a store of value; this was true 5000 years ago and this is still true today.

Be careful. The altcoin bubble is about to burst and everyone is going to lose money. Till now, the investors were able to get profits, as the alts were shooting up like crazy against fiat (and to a certain amount, against the BTC). But if something bad happens, then the coins which are not in free-float currently will be dumped en masse, and the prices will crash by 90% to 95%.

But Bitcoin is going to get segwit soon, which means lightning network can happen on Bitcoin too... so I don't see how Litecoin is still ahead of Bitcoin. Bitcoin is getting segwit, so this MIT project can happen on Bitcoin too.

If I was holding Litecoin, I would take my profits... you never know if it can dump now that Bitcoin gets segwit.

I agree with bryant.coleman, altcoins can help you make more profit, but it will make you loss all your money anytime because it just pump by whale and rich man control the price, and the price of Bitcoin controlled too!
Agree we are in big bubble cryptocurrencies and not know the time this bubble broken and crash the price of altcoin to prehistoric =)). Cryptocurrencies Market very easy controll by a rich company or any rich man want do that, not like as Forex or Stock because Crypto now is very new and look like as baby in market on the world's

One thing is a price pump, and another is actually people to preffer accepting altcoins instead of Bitcoin with the intentions to hold em longterm though.

Charlie is Satoshi is pretty funny speculation though.

I was actually eager to read a more detailed explanation and reasons why LTC is better than bitcoin but because of the mere fact that Charlie is Satoshi is now a reason? Guy several people have come out to claim they are Satoshi and they have been refuted in their claim up till today and if Charlie is really Satoshi why did he then create some he believe is inferior to supersede the superior which in the is case is  your acclaimed LTC?

The early coins served different purposes and addressed different issues.  Remember that no one back then saw these days we are in now coming.  .  Many of us coders have put together some software and then had a spinoff idea and run with that, while the first was still out there.

Probably you are right for the short term traders who sit in front of the computer whole day and track the market diligently.  But not true for the part-time traders and long-term investors. I am an investor to the bitcoin and I get only weekends to trade. So I make some quick bucks during weekends by trading with altcoins.

But I am also a long-term accumulator and investor of bitcoin. I prefer to buy bitcoins from various exchanges with my signature campaign and trading profits. I started this practice since the price of bitcoin was at 450 USD and you can easily understand that how much profit I am making just by holding the bitcoin. This wouldn't have been possible for me if I was investing in litecoin since that time.
