There are many common student market places and freelance job platforms out there but I've never seen a decentralized one built up in blockchain. So if the team can handle the project and manage the progress, this can be the pioneering one.

Will the website only cater for students or can people like mothers who work form home also apply for jobs in the marketplace? As you know jobs in the regular job market are being scaled down by automation and other economic woes, so working from home now is the only option for many folks like myself now.

Thanks for the comment! At the beginning we won't address Freelancers like yourself. There are so many alternatieves out there like Fiverr, Upwork, etc. even Ethlance as a blockchain oriented marketplace. We do challenge the micro-gig industry, as our main focus and penetration strategy sheds the light on students worldwide. bitJob highest value will come from developing new ways to earn money for the HR firms and job search engines firms. Nowadays, both sides are losing. These firms do not get serious revenues from the student segment, due to the dynamic life of the students, making them hard to obligate to fulltime jobs. Blockchain technology gives bitJob the chance to increase the distribution channels earnings from a massive and globally segment, which has been neglected without real alternatives or creative solutions.

We're working on a marketplace that connects students and employers for small online jobs. A combination of Upwork and Fiverr on Blockchain. SMB / SME will offer jobs relevant to each degree so that students can gain experience during college, earning money along the way instead of the waitressing.
bitJob will develop an income model that does not exist today, for HR companies and job search engines firms. Today, they do not make much of a profit by putting students in "real" jobs because of their dynamic life.
With the help of the ICO and our STU token, we will be able to set up an Affiliate program for student associations (for registration of students to the marketplace) and HR companies and search engines firms (for supplying relevant jobs on a regular basis).

bitJob.io participants will have reputation assigned to them, to enable them to access remuneration appropriate to their skill level. The better the individual’s reputation, based on previous bitJobs, the higher the price they will be able to command for an hour’s work. bitJob will use their reputation and dispute mechanism to analyze each user ratings. Those ratings listed from users will be used to detect fraud attempts or unprofessional participants in the platform. This will eventually reduce the fraud attempts dramatically as the Reputation assigned to the users represent their service quality.

This is good question and we have plans to deal with those issues. 1. Rating/reputation system will be in place which will allow both student and employer rate each other. When hiring employer and students when undertaking the work will be able to review those ratings. 2. Students will be able to build resume based on the work and tasks provided to employers, this way any unfavorable ratings would show up. 3. We will implement escrow service for additional fees and both employer and the student will be able to signup for this service to protect themselves. This way payments can be released according to the milestones and only after both parties sign off. Both parties would have to come to terms themselves for money to be released or returned. 4. We are considering options to dedicate certain percentage of fees towards members contributing to the community who could support arbitration process and conflict resolution. Bogdan Fiedur
