I want to invest in BTC should i do it now or wait til after August 1st?

Although I think August 1 won't make too much difference, but its better that you wait and see. Maybe the price will go down for some small length of time and that will be the perfect opportunity to buy.
So its better to wait for it as its not that far now.

Just wait after August 1, as as pointed out by a few of the other users, many people will panic and the price of bitcoin will drop. This will enable you to buy at a much cheaper price and then wait until it rises back again. The good thing about this is that this is more likely going to be a temporary event that shouldnt really effect bitcoin in the long run. Maybe try to invest in ethereum in the time being. Maybe have 5k go towards ethereum and have the rest invested in Bitcoin after the August 1 'crisis'. It will surely help you to spread your funds available and minimise the risk of loosing your money,

WAIT.

There would be lot chaos after implementation of UASF if it gets implemented without SegWit2x and there would be a price dip (could be slightly long term) which can even go to 30-40%. If Segwit2x gets implemented before the implementation of UASF. Dip would still be there but would be for short term. In both the cases you will have a good opportunity to buy bitcoin.

At present invest in any top 5 altcoin. They would definitely rise in August because of devaluation of bitcoin. Earn some profit from there and then buy bitcoin in August at lower price.

Couldn't have said the last sentence better myself. This is exactly my plan for August 1 in terms of investment opportunities.

Well by this time the prices of btc has gone down quite considerably, and i wouldn't wait if i were you. Possible that after aug1 the prices may plunge again but what if it doesn't? What if the corrections made actually pumped btc up once again and you may very well have lost the opportunity to profit more? Waiting is for selling btcs not for buying. You already have the opportunity now so don't waste it.

If you think now is the lowest bitcoin price before 1 August you can buy it you have to sharpen your instincts, I think there will be another drop maybe 29 or 30 july is the right time to buy bitcoin.

Nope! I will disagree with you. Prices will drastically increase after August 1st and that would be a good to time to get profit in bitcoins while the price will go higher. When the prices will be higher in the end of August, it would be not easy to buy bitcoins. Right now, it’s the good time for investment.
