Buy more bitcoin or wait for August 1st?

There are so many opinions about what will happen after 1st of august that my brain already is cooked about "what to do".I decided not to do anything)Just HODL.

BUT to start investing - I would wait if I were you until september

Well you should see that coming because no one here knows what will happen-- we have no psychic powers lol, as a result there's a bunch of guesses either supported with facts

or w/o.  the trick is consider what they's say but don't believe them yet do your own research but yah if you're unsure better to hold.

uhhh what will happen on sept. that will lower its price lol. buying as early as possible is still the best choice for me.

theres no such thing that prediction like this is going to be true august is a good month for us always to used bitcoin since bitcoin is becoming kore popular we can't decide whether it gonna be the last price for it it will become more in demand and become more useful for each and every one so maybe let it be and don't think too much for it bitcoin has its own future for his self tho.

I'm thinking of selling 50% of my alts to enter BTC before August 1st, in case it shoots up, and if it doesn't shoot up, then alts will dip anyhow and I can buy back cheaper....am I right or is that stupid?

That depends on how much of your portfolio is composed of alts and how much is accounted by BTC. If your portfolio is like 80% alt and 20% BTC, then there will be no harm in converting half of your alts to Bitcoin. On the other hand, if 80% of your portfolio is composed of BTC, then it may be better for you to hold on to your altcoins.

I'm currently on about 90% Alts and 10% BTC.

I might make it 50/50 before the day of reckoning and then see what happens.

i think your decision is a little different from majority of people here because people here have still invested a lot of money in bitcoin an may be a very few have invested money in altcoin also but majority of people are holding bitcoin.

I suppose you should observe the charts and time your buy order. Bitcoin price is dipping so if you think it won't slip any further, then it's the best time to buy some. The fork is aimed at improving bitcoin and not downgrading it, so results of the fork should further bitcoin price and by then, you will have gained already.

If there would be a split, there would certainly be a drop in price so maybe a good opportunity to pick some more up rather than doing it now. Normally I tend to make these kind of decisions for myself but since I don't fully understand what will happen August 1st I figured this would be the best place to ask.

Current prices are normal even though bitcoin fluctuate a lot everyday but still in the normal range.
Before August 1st become official, it's a great time to buy more bitcoin as we know after segwit activated, its price will significant increase obviously. $2500-2600 has been marked for today, don't be late.

at first, we have to make sure what will happen that day, in this purpose we have to take decision what we will do. for the purpose of making the profit we need to take a risk, if I had enough money then I would buy more bitcoin for that day, but I think there will be nothing at that day...

yes every think can happen but it does not mean that we quite trading or investment. we need to take the risk and invest money in bitcon and only through this way we can make good profit

There will be no split on August first.

If you are going to buy bitcoins, I suggest that you buy some before the activation of segwit on August. Maybe a week before August. Bitcoin's price is expected to drop at that time because of some people who might panic sell some coins because they are afraid of the uncertainties about the upcoming event. After the activation, the price will go up.

Do not sell your bitcoins before or even for a few years because selling will not help you to become rich and it will just cut the connection of you and also the opportunity of getting rich. Just hold on and keep dreaming for a higher price because it is better than worrying about the price and also for selling bitcoin, there is no better than patience because it always pays off.

It is better to wait for the increment of bitcoin’s worth. The more you wait, the more you gain. Being patient for a long time helps being richer in case of bitcoin. How can we think about the downfall of the worth of bitcoin ?

Wait to buy is never a good option from my experience. The best thing to do is buy a bit at time; small amounts when price is relatively high, bigger amounts when we experience a drop, hold and watch when the price is really high.
For now I see the price going down soon before the fork, that will be a good time to buy a bit more. Also after the fork we might see different scenarios, but we sure hope it will go to the moon

If you want to buy bitcoin now then you will have an abundance of it for a lot of people are now dumping their bitcoin for panic is in the air. Check the current market right now and all are in RED. If this will continue to go down then opportunity will present itself to new people who wants to have bitcoin.

But dont invest all your money in bitcoin its better invest only you can afoord to lose because they have possible the price to dump in august 1 but I hope so not. Actually have a part of investment is quite a good thing to consider. Because you don't know the actual move of the Bitcoin price in the market it's better to have e an option and do take the chance early. It might be the time to take the risk and wait for the development of bitcoin that yet to happen in the future.

The problem of waiting is that, if everything goes smoothly, bitcoin will quickly skyrocket anywhere from 3 to $5,000 or higher, so we may never see current price again.

If on the other hand, drama continues, we may see a big crash. So it's a double edged sword. It's a 50/50 gamble. It's anyone guess to know what's going on because nobody can know. Good luck indeed.

In any case, be sure to own the private keys and dont leave anything on the exchanges.

Its a risk but even if there is a split if you buy now you will have coins on both chains so.

The news that on 1 August there will be problems provoked panic. It was not such as hoped for whales, and therefore there will be no problems. The first rule of behavior in times of panic is to keep calm. I will also calmly waiting for the moment when the situation normalizes.
