Buy more bitcoin or wait for August 1st?

If you're looking to buy then it looks like waiting will be your best option. I wouldn't have predicted this a few months ago but people are uncertain so I guess I understand it.

The prices have crashed almost 20% during the last 2-3 days. It may crash even more and I won't be extremely surprised if we witness exchange rates below $1,000 per coin by the end of this month. So waiting is the call, as of now.

What makes you so sure ?, I am unsure of your analysis.

So my initial plan was to invest more into bitcoin on a weekly basis but with the possibility of a split on August 1st I figured I'd wait a little. If there would be a split, there would certainly be a drop in price so maybe a good opportunity to pick some more up rather than doing it now. If I were you, it is now the perfect time to buy bitcoin since then bitcoin's price is currently dumping. This scenario is said to continue until the Segwit happens on August 1 because many speculations and rumors are spread that after the said event, we will be expecting a great pump on its price. But we do not really know yet what will happen so better buy some now and after the Segwit buy another one to have an assurance regarding this matter.

The only information on august 1 is the splitting of bitcoin, it possible of 2 kinds of bitcoin.

And this news I prepare to wait the august 1. All bitcoin in my wallet already converted to the local currency to make sure that I have a money after the august 1. I choose to wait because even it increase to the higher price I will continuously (after august 1) earn/generate a bitcoin because it is very helpful to me and to the others.

I don't have a big value of bitcoin, for me, the bitcoin I earn is very helpful to my study and for my family so the all bitcoin I earn will be use to financial problem.

Any suggestions for newbies looking to buy bitcoins.  I heard about bitcoins from a co-worker and they are purchasing coins through a company called USI-tech.  It's set up like a pyramid where you invite 3 people and they invite/refer 3 people.  Not sure if that's a good thing or not.  I'd rather buy coins directly for myself if that's a better way to go.  Can anyone tell me of a reputable company that I can buy bitcoins from?

THe bitcoin already pumped. OP already late to buy bitcoin at the cheap price. The scenario is segwit 2x bring the more hype for bitcoin as fast as possible rather than plunged the price of bitcoin.
We will see a lot of pump on bitcoin to buy a rumor about the segwit in august. And people will sell for the news. bitcoin is really bullish right now.

For me i will still hold a bitcoin we know that there is always a risk in investment so be always ready to lose your money thats why dont invest all your wealth in cryptocurrency but i guess in august 1 it will be a huge success for bitcoin but no one knows what will happened just take it in your own risk.

I sold my bitcoins and I'm feeling a regret for this. This was a mistake but they feared us too much buy saying bitcoin will die etc.

I took lessons, decide something on your own. The rest is trashy.

I'm sure segwit and hardfork issues will not happen, a few minutes ago I checked bitcoin prices have reached $ 2900 and this is the highest achievement, thank goodness I do not sell bitcoin and be patient waiting

I would have said to wait until August 1st, but anyone who bought bitcoin even yesterday, is up 20% right now.  I believe I saw $1850 or so in the middle of the night last week.

I have to admit that I am super surprised that we are seeing a rally like this today.  I would hold off on purchasing now as of this moment.   It's definitely try not to buy in the middle of a rally.

That's the thing, some people are worrying about August 1. And it might get  the price of Bitcoin to fall, then that's the time you're going to buy, then buy alts or store it in a secure wallet, and be happy after August 1. Well, that's my opinion, you don't have to agree with me. Thanks

Agree with you, if you buy bitcoin 4 days ago i think you already get great profit at the current price of bitcoin, but if you afraid of buying that time because you are scared on the split i think you missed the opportunity to earn more money again and again.
Bitcoin value are increasing again and i think also it would increase more than we expect.

No need to wait for August 1 or you might have to buy at higher prices. The last week has been a very good performance in terms of price and it only shows the confidence that many has put on bitcoin and how it is able to recover nicely after a few weeks of losing a big part of the market cap.

Today Rate of bitcoin crossed 2660$.I think you had to brought it before it self.Even you can brought it now to get more profit.After July 27 th and all you can't brought at this rate too.If you brought now means you will get huge profit after August 1.

As you say it is possible that prices will plummet. So I think we should wait after August 1st. Do not buy more to avoid losses. But if the price increases, do not be sorry, because the price will not stop at the approximate current  value that will increase as much as we expect.
