I had received over $5K bitcoin payments and the price dropped within short-time its a massive drop and I'm under a huge loss. What to do I don't know.

What is the reason for such dramatic and panic announcement I can't understand. You should know by now that volatility and fluctuation of price are normal and price corrections happen from time to time. You can always earn and you can always lose, that is how things are going with Bitcoin.
If you are not ready for that you shouldn't cope with Bitcoins at first place.

Verging on a bear market now.  ETH is already falling harder, but I think Bitcoin will stabilise if SegWit happens.  If it doesn't happen, we're probably screwed.  But I don't see it dropping below $1000.

I do not believe it either. Too much has already been invested in bitcoin money. In addition, the popularity of bitcoin grows, and this raises the price. The maximum that can happen is a decrease in the price of several hundred dollars

There is a possibility but if many people will still believe to Bitcoin then i think price will not drop if its in demand then it will likely go up. Also i never saw Bitcoin went very down what i always see is it will go down for a bit then go up exceeding the last highest price before it went down well atleast that is what i believe in.

Bitcoin has been a very volatile currency just like all other cryptocurrencies. But it is a normal movement of the market. We have witnessed a huge bubble way back 2013 and it happened again in 2017. But if we look at the charts even if bitcoin had experienced a bubble or a crash in value but we cannot deny that it has recovered and it has trying again to increase in value. Investing in bitcoins is risky thus we need to know how the market moves so that we can sell bitcoin at a higher value and buy at a lower value. If you have bought at a higher value then just don panic and hold it and wait for an increase in value so you can sell it.

You are not the only one who has a huge loss. Though I care at all with the lose that is being gone to me still there's no way for bitcoin get back at $1,000. Why there's a lot of people that are asking the same thing. If you are thinking that it's risky to receive bitcoin in payments, then you shouldn't be here.

You are already a full member and you should know that.
Patience will most likely help you. Dont cause more panic to others by making this kind of threads that might be read by new investors also.

Exactly, where from this drama , why create panic for newbies , the OP should know better because Bitcoin has taken this trend for the past few weeks and it's volatility keeps it moving up and down so there's no need to fret when you know it's going to jump right back into position and even climb further.

It's doubtful it will go back to $1k. I would say that low $2,000s are more likely than anything right now, but things can change. I doubt it'll plummet like some people are expecting for it to and we're going to keep chugging along at the values we're been seeing over the past few days/week before we see any market movements of note.
I find the market crash weird to be honest, basically all cryptos got hit and I'm still not sure why.

Price fluctuations is the nature of currencies market or money markets. Bitcoin has shown strength in the face of strong opposition. I don't see its price felling but a range market trend. I don't think bitcoin will fell below $1,000 and we hope the current correlation end and price resume it current upward movement so you can sell at profit! Op.

As far as I know these fluctuations in cryptocurrencies is completely normal. Please do not try to make people panic. Bitcoin price had risen to near 3000 dollar because of high demand.  Now the real price is between 2400 and 2700 dollar as supply and demand are in balance.

You will never see the price below 2k again, I think 2k should be the bottom for the price of correction. This time looks the bitcoin very stable and there is a little correction in the market. Too many good news has released yesterday that gives the more hype for the bitcoin itself like Barclays said about bitcoin.
