Can Bitcoin End World Poverty?

i am not sure about this but if every people in the world is trying to join in bitcoin world and they want to do some work to earn bitcoin, i think bitcoin can end world poverty. the only problem that i can think is not every country have good internet connection so its the one thing that every government need to solve because bitcoin is related with internet connection so people can used bitcoin with safe and no need to worried to thinking that they can not connect with internet.

bitcoin is just money, and like any other moneyz it can not do magical things on its ow. people can use it as a tool to make more moneyz an make themselves richer by increasing their net worth but to expect bitcoin to end world's poverty is just absurd in my opinion!

Correct, bitcoin itself can't end the world poverty, it is still depends on us, we must cooperate on ending this poverty, and if we are all going to be united on this with the help of bitcoin, then I guess we could do this. Bitcoin I think cannot end world poverty, after all not all people can and will use bitcoin. Also, it really depends on the people if they will get rich or not with bitcoin, and it won't be the one to end world poverty because not all people can access the internet and not all owns a pc or a smartphone to store bitcoin, unless bitcoin will be tradeable offline too, one thing is for sure though, bitcoin can make more new rich people in the future.

With bitcoin we can't end poverty. This is an social issue which can be eradicated only by the government and bitcoin can help them financially grow up. In my view each and every country has got certain number of people in the poverty level. The grown Countries don't show it out, but the developing countries show the decreasing number in poverty level to calibrate the growth.

Bitcoin is not a magic wand which will end world poverty. It simply doesn't have the power to end such a massive thing. Also bitcoin is not a payment system anymore. We have moved to a different goal long back, when the confirmation time increased and transaction fees hiked. These confirmation time and transaction fees is going to be increased again and again. So we will move from the initial goal further.

Bitcoin has now purely became an investment asset. IT can provide a huge return which any other conventional investment will never be able to offer ever. So I take bitcoin purely as an investment and a trading asset. I earn profit  and keep it for the future.

The article does not speak about bitcoin, but about how blockchain technology will help to cope with the shadow economy in developing countries and as a result will reduce poverty.

I think blockchain technology can help the economy in developing countries but it can't reduce poverty! It just help make transaction fast, security and cheap fee more than old payment system as Bank, Visa or Paypal. If poor person lack of knowledge using Blockchain, the blockchain technology can't help them!

If each individual person can't manage their finances, Bitcoin can't end world poverty. Everyone could have a opportunity in life to save money, invest it, grow the money and have a better life status, but it doesn't happen.

- First of all, if you don't stop making children, your month expenses will become even higher, you won't have the chance to save money, you won't upgrade your life status and won't give confort to your family.
- Second, if you waste money with desnecessary items like cellphones, expensive clothes, accessories, gifts you won't save money.

I'm not saying you can't have all of those things, you just need to know the right time to have that, first you need to save your money, invest it (in Bitcoins), hold your coins, when the price hit a nice value, sell part of your coins and invest in real life, open a little shop, start a production of a good at home. Only this way Bitcoin can help to end world poverty, only if people are able to manage their money and their actions.

The existence of cryptocurrencies makes it possible to give every citizen in the world a stack of gold. The currency thus given out will not be valuable by itself – not at first. Time will have to pass in order for scarcity to change the value of the currencies. Nor will every currency succeed in making impoverished people wealthy.

But there are perspectives that are needed to have a good look at. There are still groups in some community or society that aren't computer literate. To know about bitcoin is still hardwork and not just by having an internet connection.
Poor people will just spend for their needs rather than going to an internet cafe and wait for weeks or even months to earn in an online job or something.
Everyone has their chance and way to change their social status in a social ladder.
But ending poverty is still a long process if everyone in a country are willing to contribute.

Poverty is not based primarily on laziness.  You think there are entire neighbourhoods, towns, cities or countries that suffer from being lazy?  Poverty has a lot to do with luck in terms of where in the world you're born and what you're exposed to.  Without proper exposure to financial independence, it's very difficult to achieve that when no one around you is achieving it.

Bitcoin is just a currency, and IMO no easier to obtain than fiat.  Just because there is interest in Bitcoin, doesn't mean it can automatically be generated in a way to support yourself.

I'm with you. There is just a whole lot of people within the world, ending poverty would be pretty tough due to a bunch of reasons.

Most people that are old don't know how to use computers that well. So Bitcoin would seem like some kind of video game or something to them.

People that like playing sports and doing things outdoors prolly won't hear of Bitcoin till the price of Bitcoin drops down to zero.
