Are they going to mandate all their branches around the world to start accepting bitcoin or they would stay in russia for now? Tho i am excited for this because i am a burger king fan i am kinda afraid to pay more in fees than the burger that i've paid

Just checked with a Russian friend yesterday, and he told me that the Burger King employees in Vernadskogo Avenue have no idea about Bitcoins or the news that BK is going to accept BTC. As usual, it looks like the Coin Telegraph is churning out fake news in order to increase the readership.

As much as Coin Telegraph wants to increase traffic on their site, they should also think about the credibility of their articles. More and more people will continue taking their 'news' less seriously if this trend continues.

Seems like they have been doing this for quite a while. They have become experts in dishing out fake news, and they have been doing this ever since 2014 I think. Please check these outrageous articles from them:

If Burger King is going to accept bitcoin then I don't have anything to become glad, I'm not interested in spending bitcoin by eating and shopping. Whatever the case is bitcoin should be reserved for the business and the future purposes. But I'm not going to say that accepting bitcoin by burger king is worse, it's obviously better for getting popular among the people...

So in order to buy my $1 dollar menu burger i gotta spend $1 in fees? I wish this would happen in USA, it's still pretty cool that there's a national company that anyone can go to get a product

Russian Burger King restaurants are due to start accepting Bitcoin as a payment method this summer, reports state on Wednesday.

According to local news resources, a Moscow branch of the burger chain has started piloting Bitcoin payments, with officials now confirming a nationwide rollout.

Uznay Vse states the unnamed branch accepted a Bitcoin transaction on Tuesday this week, which represents “the first official reports of Bitcoin payments for goods and services in Russia.”

Burger King has also begun the hunt for an IT professional able to implement the relevant software.

“Several programs need to be written which will allow restaurant tills to speak to the Android and iOS apps and allow customers to pay with cryptocurrency,” Uznay Vse continues.

Russia is becoming an increasingly pro-crypto environment this year, with Finance Ministry deputy Alexey Moiseev saying this week that such currencies may be legally traded on exchanges if subject to “appropriate regulations.”

Wow! thats great news again to us if that happen, however I think there is a little bit problem which I think I saw about the payment of their customer. Isn't the confirmation was always the problem of the bitcoin users. How are gonna reaolve that kind of a problem.

Good to see this initiative being taken in such a large country. It would be great to see this happening where I live, but it will probably take some time.
Patience is the key.

If they not implement a better way to aproved the payment of it it is really better to use cash or cards, maybe a bitcoin card could be in handy Smiley

Bitcoin (debit) cards issued by third party payment processors such as BitPay and Coinbase can be used. But direct payments are not impractical, due to complexities and delays with confirmation. Yesterday, one of my transactions took 3 hrs to confirm, despite paying a fee of 70 Sat/Byte.
