Bidding 44.444 BTC.

importing bid from user miernik from previous auction thread. All bids must now be 45BTC or above.

...

Girlfriend is furious, wanted to pull the auction and just sell it traditionally. I persuaded her that this is worth trying, but due to Mr Goats continued Hijacks she is now setting the reserve at 150BTC, because she feels that the price would be much higher by now if it were not for these Hijacks.

Sorry guys to change the rules but my rules were broken also when I asked this thread not be Hijacked and would be for bids only.

SO TO BE CLEAR THE RESERVE IS NOW SET AT 150BTC NO BIDS BELOW THIS.

AUCTION STILL FINISHES SATURDAY MIDNIGHT GMT

If it does not meet the reserve it will be sent to Ebay and people can bid on it there.

bitcoin_bob,

I have been watching your two auction threads with interest, but just because someone else has come and polluted your thread doesn't mean he has driven potential bidders away. You did not post any price reserve information in your OPs and now you are changing the rules ex post facto. I was thinking of bidding on the house until I saw your previous post. This does not look good at all. I would say that miernik has a valid bid on your house. Are you now not going to honor the deal if his bid ends up being the highest one because of factors outside his control?

Maybe yes, maybe no, but when someone posts in your thread 'I think this is a scam' chances are higher to the Yes factor. Which is totally unfair on my girlfriend to have to take a possible big financial loss simply because someone can't keep their opinions to themselves.

You did not post any price reserve information in your OPs and now you are changing the rules ex post facto.

Auction rules technically state no spamming of the post or I will completely abandon the auction. No one is willing to honour that rule, so am I supposed to (in the words of bateatus) open robe and present ass, simply because people only like the rules that suit them (IE getting a house for no reserve) and not the ones that suit me (Having the courtesy not to pollute my post again to give me fair chance to have a decent auction in peace?)

I was thinking of bidding on the house until I saw your previous post. This does not look good at all.

Which are the bones of it- your now pissed off because this isn't going the way you would have like it to and you would not care what happened on this thread if it meant there was an outside chance you would score the house for really really cheap.

Are you now not going to honor the deal if his bid ends up being the highest one because of factors outside his control?

Actually I am changing the rules because of factors outside of MY control. People spamming my post.

Like it or lump it, these are the new rules. Feel free to take your frustrations out on the spammers of my post, especially those who decided to not once, but twice throw up accusations of scamming on them. As per the auction rules if this degrades into a discussion and does not stay an auction I reserve the right to just pull it in it's entirety. If you want to discuss there is a perfectly good thread here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=196368.0 for all of this where I would be happy to talk about it until the cows come home.

Is the house in ichstedt at Schulstraße / Hauptstraße ?

I would offer myself as a escrow for this auction. I live in Germany and I speak german native. So I could check everything with the contract and the lawyer / notary

Thanks for the offer.

PM sent with the lawyers and notaries details.

British humour comes with something we call 'tongue in cheek' sarcasm. The title was suppose to be a joke reference to the fact that my previous auction attracted a gazillion spam posts, oddly enough, like the one you have posted now. Please don't spam my auction as requested in the auction rules.

Very well. My intention wasn't to crap up your thread but rather to post a legitimate concern. My reply is here.

I can see now why you're in top ten most-posting users. I guess that's because you don't waste your time to read before posting.

No matter what, people are always going to warn people that this might be a scam, but I saw your reply and gave a very good explanation in using lawyers in order to sign papers etc.

So there should be no problem.

OK so we just passed the less than 24 hours to go mark.

Let me take this chance to remind people that escrow is accepted, the property is 100% free and clear freehold and water, electric and gas connections are present.

Photos of the property here;

There is a interactive map on immobilienscout which allows you to see local shops, hospital,s schools etc

[url]http://www.immobilienscout24.de/wohnen/thueringen,kyffhaeuserkreis,ichstedt/umgebungskarte.html][http://postimg.org/my.php?gallery=2zbidwy2/url]

Remember this house is a pretty, half timbered house in a traditional German style called 'Fachwerkhaus' A half timbered house built in the 1830s.

This can be read about here;

http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fachwerkhaus

and here in english;

http://www.fachwerkhaus-kaufen.de/

I have found some comparative houses in the local market in this style;

for instance http://www.immobilienscout24.de/expose/65746689 (40,000 euros)

http://www.fachwerkhaus-kaufen.de/index.php/fachwerkboerse/fachwerkhaus-suchen/all

Local estate agent told us it would sell in the local market quite quickly (3-4 months) for circa 25,000 euros.

That at todays rate is 277BTC.......

As discussed previously the reserve is set at 150 which is just over half the value. This is a great chance for you to turn those bitcoins into something useful for yourself, and if you win, see you on the other side tomorrow!

I found the location of the house but not an address. I can hardly send my lawyer a map and say "this one" and then have my lawyer call up his lawyer and try to describe the map and see if its legit.

It is moot anyway as the OP refuses to either give me the address or let me talk to his lawyer until after the auction is over.

I could understand you are thinking this but I also said, you can call the lawyer...

...if you dont trust, call the lawyer, see it is true, and then make apologies on the forum.

i took out unrelated insults and ramblings but he has told me i am able to call the lawyer and have been trying to do so for days.

It is very unprofessional to try and auction a house with out giving an address or a contact with the lawyer.

I highly suspect this is a scam.

I found the location of the house but not an address.

Schulstraße 200, 06556 Ichstedt. It's typed on the left from the map, on the same page where the link points, just one click away from the forums. You may also want to make 2 more clicks (on the map) to find out that the two houses next to it are numbers 199 and 202.

It would be nice if the op can confirm this to be correct. Had he done so a week ago things would have gone so much better.

Here I must agree. Generally, the mistake was setting only a week time limit for the auction. It's not normal to buy a house without even seeing it IRL and without having anough time to make a decision. It's OK only if you buy it a few times cheaper than the market price.
However, I think 'scam' is not the right word here. If one places a bet, the only thing he might lose is his time. Nobody is going to transfer BTC before the agreement is signed anyway.

At this point, after having the address and looking into the guy and the house his story seems to check out. He just has no clue how to run a BTC auction and I think the price reflects that. Next time be open about the address and be willing to give the information you claim you will give.

Anyway I am now comfortable enough to finally place a bid after all that hard work.

50 BTC.

Shocking!

I assume you will still accept the 44.444 bid as it was made before you changed the rules correct?

Hi guys,

just to warn everyone that user 'Chaang Noi' (who I lovingly refer to as Mr. Goat) is obviously attempting maneuvers to sabotage this auction.

I have given detailed reasons here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=196368.new#new

I also want to point out that he is BANNED from bidding on this auction. Any post or offer made by him is invalid. I am glad he has however managed to 'confirm' that the property is indeed for sale and that we are the owners. That should give some new confidence to people for bidding.

I again ask that any non bid discussions be sent to the above thread in order to allow my auction to continue in peace.

Many thanks

yes I've seen the reserve 'update' of the rules
nevertheless even ebay allows bidding below reserve
