Mi casa, su casa.

Treat WO like you would like others to treat you.

Behave yourself and there wont be any trouble; piddle on the carpet, talk dirty or generally be obnoxious and you'll get booted out.

Amended from adamstgBit fork :

Wall Observer
A free service brought to you by the bitcoin community

Whenever there is a significant change in market depth, please update this thread with a new depth chart, and a good price chart with some TA is also welcome, feel free to comment on these if you have something worth contributing.

Posting guide lines:
Please lets keep this thread clean. ( I will be removing any obnoxiously off topic posts, thread-jacking attempts, smearing, scatological attacks, etc )
Some amount of random comments are allowed on this thread, but try to keep it related to the last wall update or price movement.
Strictly no altcoin discussion unless it directly relates to bitcoin pricing movements.

as requested, i have started a new thread.
this thread is now a self-moderated topic.
I will try and keep this thread clean, with only facts, current trends, past price movements, depth charts, etc.

thank you for your input!

Thanks for being prepared to put a lot of effort into moderating this.

I think we are going sideways this week, range bound between £2500 and $2600. I can't see any significant walls on stamp, which usually indicates nobody's sure which way it will go.

Forgive my petulance and oft-times, I fear, ill-founded criticisms, and forgive me that I have, by this time, made your eyes and head ache with my long letter. But I cannot forgo hastily the pleasure and pride of thus conversing with you.

Not sure how much effort it will be going into it  Grin ... it will definitely be 'light touch' moderation (no hard slaps).

I screwed up the first go around by forgetting to click the "self-moderated" button so locked that ... it all adds to the forking anarchy confusion which is a good thing. Ultimately we need the original re-opened but this will be a possible option in case that doesn't happen.

I suspect the winning fork will be the one that's closest to the original, provided the original stays locked. Light touch moderation might well win. No moderation will probably get locked, and heavy moderation will probably make everyone too scared to post anything humorous.

I hope my predictions about this thread are better than my price predictions. A few hours after predicting range bound between £2500 and $2600 it crashed below £2500!

I’m Sorry.

I believed that I could do this. I believed that I could put the years of anonymity and hiding behind me. But, as the events of this week unfolded and I prepared to publish the proof of access to the earliest keys, I broke. I do not have the courage. I cannot.

When the rumors began, my qualifications and character were attacked. When those allegations were proven false, new allegations have already begun. I know now that I am not strong enough for this.

I know that this weakness will cause great damage to those that have supported me, and particularly to Jon Matonis and Gavin Andresen. I can only hope that their honour and credibility is not irreparably tainted by my actions. They were not deceived, but I know that the world will never believe that now. I can only say I’m sorry.

And goodbye.

Anyone who knows some math or physics will recognize the equations on that black(clear?)board as being complete rubbish. I wonder what the guy really knows and which qualifications came from breakfast cereal packets.

This looks like the thread I'd rather read.

Thx for committing time to it, and for committing to the light touch moderation.

PS: Is there a moderation log capability on bitcointalk? I prolly should know by now, but I don't. Smiley

If option 1 or 3 occur, who are the candidates for new listed owner / mods? Someone please compile a list.
Quote from: theymos link=topic=1993570
What should be done with the wall observer thread? (Your vote may be published.)  (Voting closes: July 03, 2017, 12:48:09 AM)
1. Transfer ownership of the current thread to someone active, and trust them to enforce on-topicness.    - 70 (36.3%)
Move the current thread to Off-topic and exempt it from all on-topicness rules.    - 30 (15.5%)
3. Move the current thread to a new Chat section which will be mostly ignored by bitcointalk.org mods, but will have its own set of mods pulled from the Wall Observer regulars in order to enforce some amount of order.    - 51 (26.4%)

We need some volunteers, particularly to my mind for option 3. original thread rules are too restricive
I volunteer the following

marcus_of_augustus
BlindMayorBitcorn
infofront

^these seem the least controversial.
these i wouldn't care for:

Lauda
Meuh6879

pl 'someone' do a thread for theymos

also, some technology from alt-threads
Of all the predictions going around, this one looks the most realistic to me. Segwit activation and lack of a soft fork on Aug. 1 will result in a breakout of the pennant being created now.

TA is all fine and dandy but i don't see a break out based on market sentiment until Nov 18: https://medium.com/@jimmysong/segwit2x-what-you-need-to-know-about-the-2mb-hard-fork-27749e1544ce

The guy is a lunatic, I wish he'd crawl up behind a rock somewhere & die. Any way, I hope this Wall Observer stays unlocked. The original was my favourite thread on the whole forum.

Price wise I think we will have a period of sideways before a significant swing either way dependent on what happens 1st August.

Yes, you can view the latest post deletions, bans, and thread removals here. The list only holds the last day or two's moderation actions. After that I don't think there's a way for ordinary users to view them any more.

https://bitcointalk.org/modlog.php

PS: I'm pleased the price is back above $2500. Let's hope it stays above it for the rest of the weekend.

It looks to me like this triangle around $2500 (bitstamp) might be going to resolve by the end of the weekend ... it's getting coiled up quite tight now.

Anyone else got lines on charts to confirm this ...?
Yeah, I am also seeing a triangle formation.  I am expecting it to break downwards however...
