According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

How do you guys prove in situations like this that the account wasn't sold ages ago then years later someone comes back to claim it? Serious question. No offense to OP nor am I accusing him of anything.

Maybe prove that you bought the account showing PMs and prints of any convo? That's all I can think off since you can probably recover the account if you can prove you already owned that account any time in the past.

Some users also sell the staked address from that account to let the buyer "prove" his ownership over that account.

Ahh.. thats clever. Thank so for taking the time to do consicely explain that. Never really thought they could include the private key to a no longer needed address to prove it as well. Clears things up. ?$334:z

I've tried to PM a mod. But it appears that the account has not been recovered/reset yet.

To Daeone:
Besides the proof of bitcoin signature, I think the mods can compare activity statistics.
I'm based in China, and it is very small chance the hacker (or whoever bought it from the hacker) shares the same routine of activities.

Thanks!

Sending messages to moderators is useless in case of hacked accounts. Moderators don't have access to any relevant logs nor are they able to recover them.

To Daeone:
Besides the proof of bitcoin signature, I think the mods can compare activity statistics.
Again, the moderators have no additional access to "activity statistics" compared to a regular user.
