Why price of eth is higher than etc

Hi all,

I'm newbie and I want to understand more about crypto world.

I want to understant why eth is 300$ aprox and etc is 17$.

Same supply of coins, and is ethereum both,

Why eth is 20 times etc.

ETC and ETH split up (hard-fork) after the DAO "hack" last year.
Most of the community moved to ETH therefore its price is much higher (and that's why they are also very similar).

This coin have potential both ethereum and etc have potential. I think why ethereum is high price compared to the etc because ethereum is older coin and this coin have more potential coin compared to the etc. But I also have etc because I believe Ethereum classic will hit 100 dollars before end of this year and I think ethereum will increase at 1000 dollars. Buy ETC and ethereum so you make a lot of money.

Correct ETC is very familiar with ETH as ive know that the programmers of ETH create a new algorithm and that is called ETC its a project that will take over the ETH but as you can see its booming price is going up and for the issue of ETC that has been hacked lately it will drop alot not only the value of the coin but the numbers of believers in it. Hope that they can asses what is the vulnerabilities of the coin.

The developers and community chose eth over etc after the DAO split. Now, without a vibrant community, etc is more of a lagger to eth's improvements.

This is right. After that hacking action, the community and investors prefered ethereum and they adopted ethereum. Thus, etc stayed very weak for months. In functuonality, I don't think etc have a future. The only thing can happen on etc is price speculation, but ethereum has a innovative technology.

What happened there was like 'when you left your house keys inserted at your door knob then you completely not blaming yourself of getting robbed'. In software level, the contact allowed the draining of funds to occur, the exploiter just uncovered the vulnerability. Pretty irresponsible right?

It's possible, but you have to understand that the success of a project is not just quantified by the price.

The price difference will be lower when etc starts to be used for icos.

And also when eth goes to POS and the miners go to etc

IMHO, there is no deep cryptocentric specific answer.

Tech dweeb's may not like the answer, but ETH vs ETC is a case in all its glory of falling under the umbrella of better marketing. The current ICO craze has gone to school, used as a template, the rise of ETH as an example of how to raise lots of money, establish a presence in crypto in a short time.

The answer is very simple, because ETH is the official currency, it does not carry any black note, otherwise, ETC is a coin formed from ETH, it is the solution to use the ETH number. Stolen, it carries a large black spot on its foundation.

I think why ethereum the price is more higher than etc because ethereum coin is older than the ethereum classic. And for sure etc will increase also what ethereum reach. But ethereum for me is the next bitcoin and ethereum is my top 1 altcoin and this coin gives me a lot of profit in the future. I have alsp ethereum classic for future purposes. Ethereum and ETC is partner and for sure if ethereum success etc will be sucess also.
