I never think that his vision is a shit. Through his innovation he has made an effective functioning on the financial system. One should understand this has got initiated as a technology which further got into usage as currency and in various other forms. I believe in the technology, because once Russia banned bitcoin and same soon after a hard research they have come up with plans of using the same technology on their financial system.

I don't think there is anything to confirm about him after all he revealed his name but not his face.
There can be 1000+ satoshi in japan.
He made this forum and now theymos and badbear are managing it.

Even if I don't believe in his existence at all at least I believe in his consistency, he's been able to remain anonymous for all these years and that to me says he's real because he's been consistent with that and nobody has been able to prove otherwise.

Is this a joke?

Did Maxwell and Theymos claim that Satoshi was an idiot? No. If they did they wouldn't be involved in Bitcoin.

I don't necessarily believe in the name "Satoshi Nakomoto". Seems fake-ish to me. Also, considering the desire to remain anonymous, it would only make more sense that this is a fake name.

With that said, I do believe 1 person created the Bitcoin infrastructure or at least came up with the white paper, as we know it. From there, it all just snowballed to where we are today.

Satoshi isn't important. He decided not to be. He created Bitcoin and then left it to run on its own and be truly decentralized.

There have been hundreds of self proclaimed / discovered "Satoshi's" since I've been on these forums for years. He's kind of taken on a "Jesus" persona, where as in, even if the real "Satoshi" was to arrive and proclaim himself, no one would believe it.

Believe in Satoshi Nakamoto is necessary in the sense that the world of digital currency still somebody created. This world is not perfect, but it is being perfected. The events of August 1 confirm this. If bitcoin successfully passes this test, it will lead to its further recognition and attraction of additional investors and users. Whoever was behind Satoshi, he did a great thing.

Few people have vision, Most people are followers.

Some followers may have great technical skills and create wonders under the leadership of a visionary but then turn it all to shit when the visionary leaves and is not around to give them directions.

It happens all the time

He did created a big thing, but I think this opens up a new idea to someone who are looking at bitcoin the different way. All we've ever done was to earn desperately bitcoin and ourselves money. I am not a type of person who can understand these article or post but all I know that Satoshi did not leave bitcoin without great reason. Maybe because if he didn't, bitcoin will never be a big thing that may change bitcoin as a centralized  digital currency.

Correct, satoshi is not important for the project, what it is important is the project itself, bitcoin, that is his legacy, I do not care who he is or why he did it, the important thing is that he did it and for that I’m grateful.

Don't know about any of that drama in the OP, but I was not here in 2009-10, and there's a part of me that really thinks "Satoshi" is part of the US government and that bitcoin was created in response to the banking meltdown of 2008-09.  We were almost going to be in economic armageddon, where ATMs would not spit out cash and banks would be closed.  No checking, no debit cards, zippo.

What would have been the perfect solution in that case would be to create a form of money that would operate independent of banks--and then we got bitcoin!  Could just be a huge coincidence, but whatever part of my brain is involved in believing in conspiracies thinks this.  And it never did get as bad as it could have, so there's that.

Whether bitcoin is following Satoshi's view of it, who knows?  I don't claim to understand the mechanics of bitcoin, just like I don't understand banking.

I am over core.

I just want larger on-chain scaling options + I want all transaction under 10,000 satoshi banned. They have almost no value currently and are not needed for BTC to funcition at all.

To entertain this line of thought, I think the creators supersede government. It's a literal attempt at a unified, decentralized global financial system. As such it would protect power brokers far better than any government ever could. Think Bilderberg Group.

I really don't know why people are so fixed about Satoshi. Let’s leave him alone. The buddy does not want to be a celebrity so let it be this way. Why disturbing anyone against his will? According to NSA, Wright is Satoshi and now there are many myths about him. Just stop dragging this topic. Really, it's useless.

There might be some reasons for satoshi to stay away from the crowd. (should be large enough)
Satoshi if still exist is sure to have proof to prove his identity and can be a huge celebrity at current time.
But still he's not doing it.
Conclusion- the person or the team is classified project of any powerful agency(government?).
