whats your idea about LBRY price in future ? what is your reason ? is this coin worth investing (buying or mining) ?

It could go somewhere, definitely. The way I determine the future value of a coin is by looking at giant corporations or applications of today and think about whether or not a crypto/blockchain version of those things, like SIA is a clear competitor of dropbox, Digibyte is a potential (online) gaming currency, Minereum could become the next lottery, ... LBRY could become the next youtube platform, where content can be bought for very small amounts of money, which would result in an ad-less platform that people could use to support their favorite channels. Today we have patreon, but LBRY could become the crypo version of that. Not to mention books (ebooks, audio, ...), movies, ... All of this could potentially run on the LBRY platform. Very, very interesting imo.

True, but a lot of content creators that only do youtube to make a living are getting fucked by the ad policy or ad blockers. This leads them to either A. set up a patreon account, which is a decent solution right now, B. create ad-friendly content, which might not be what people wanted to see from that creator, or C. Quit youtube.
The thing is, the vast majority of subscribers are not willing to pay a couple of bucks, yet they might be willing to pay 0.5 LBRY per video.

I don't know, I think blockchain tech will only grow in the future, so all applications or online businesses that don't incorporate that will be replaced by the ones that do

A lot of tech will come up in the later weeks,
So if you want to know it is worth or not investing of course absolutly worth it.
But you must wait for the right time to invest to it

I consider Lbry a good altcoin, not so good as ZEC, but I think it worth a try to keep and hold some and bet in its future, it's always a 50/50 chance to profit.

Why is there another thread about this? There is already 2 lbry threads. Can't you just go look at those threads where this has been discussed a lot. The worth of lbry is simple. 466,424,524 total supply, divide by number of paying users. Say 100 million people own $10 worth of lbry credits, that will push up the price to make it worth while investing now. If you don't believe in the project then stay away.

Well had you bought when i posted my thread and when i speculated it will go x10, you would have x10 already.

I got much more than that now, around x20 and more i believe.


However this all depends whether it actually gets adapted. I don't see their app as the killer, although there is a bit potential as they might invent to accept other cryptocoins, and in background convert to LBC. So it could be potentially an alternative to prevent torrenting. If people could watch movies for a reasonable price and conveniently, maybe they would have. I would. And LBRY app is convenient for something like this.

What's pretty cool is the LBRY protocol! There is still some time to go, but let's assume they make videos possible to be embedded into websites, as well as other items, and some open source code for such marketplace, then people will start creating their own websites and cutting the middleman.

What i don't like about it, is proof of work and high inflation. This would have been a winner, had it been pos.



This is for the long term, if they create open source code so anyone can create their own projects and display/sell content from LBRY protocol, then this is a big winner.

Short term, (assuming the bear market in crypto does not starts, if it does, everything goes kaboom most likely) the open beta launch is expected to be by the end of July so if the actual date is announced, price could grow rapidly until that date and i think it could reach 1,2$-2$, but who knows it's so unpredictable right now with bitcoin situation being unclear...

I think that LBRY is like SIA that type of currencies arent for pays in the normal day, that type of coins were created for specific services, Sia is the cloud storage and LBRY purpose is pay artists in a fair way.
For know the future price we need to evaluate 3 things usability, competence and future costumers. If you think that the tech is worth then invest, if you dont think so then dont invest.

their tech is awesome, so is the team, development moves fast, they're releasing a public beta soon. Decentralized, uncensorable & monetized Youtube, man! All video content producers will move to it.

I could see this happen, it's about 250% increase in value, shouldn't be too big of a problem once they launch their platform

a 5$ LBRY is definitely possible, but not for another 5 to 10 years i'm afraid. It takes a lot to overthrow established platforms like youtube and netflix. On the other hand, i believe the devs have announced that they're gonna launch their beta platform in the near future so who knows. I think we can all agree it could go to 1$ by the end of this year, so 5$ by the end of 2022 isn't a crazy guess.

I don't think LBRY can ever beat Youtube. They have only 1 chance: As we see from Steemit, they create a blogging platform of cryptocurrency. So LBRY may become video sharing platform of crypto. That is the best they can ever do.
