Did you know that Power Ledger will be accepting tokens and fiat currency for their POWR tokens, when the sale starts.

How does the technology work? What is the difference between an POWR and Spark token?

Did you know there is no minimum or maximum cap on the POWR token!  There is also no minimum amount to invest.

This sounds like a cool project.

Now, energy markets are notorious for being heavily regulated by governments. Transmission, distribution and metering systems even more so. Each country has its own smart metering legislation, etc.

What is your strategy on this? How do you intend to cut through the red tape? What are your first steps?

In a traditional regulated network it will do to start. The thing to consider is that for the industry this has to be an evolution not an extinction event. We have to give the industry the chance to keep up with consumer preferences otherwise we destroy billions of dollars of value in what amount to social assets.  Grid providers understand the impacts of load defection in the relevance of their service.  Providing what amounts to a distribution use of system charge (DUOS for power nerds) rather than relying on over-priced network tariffs is a step towards maintaining the viability of power networks.

Power Ledger have just been on Ian Balina's live feed. got a great review.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlLXTyV2BMk&t=6s

Some confusion maybe, the community trading electricity  are either consumers or prosumers. They always trade through an application host. They never redeem their sparks for POWR tokens, only for the local currency.  They buy the sparks for fiat at a fixed rate of 1 spark 1 cent and redeem at the same rate. They don't need to use or stake POWR.  This maintains the Spark/kWh purchasing power. We can't have the community being exposed to market rates of POWR for their power! This may change sometime in the future and we will have the ability to trade POWR directly for kWh but we don't see this as realistic or practical short term based on the way current markets work. We call it phased disruption which allows Power Ledger to integrate and adapt  into existing electricity markets, as well as new ones.
