I am just getting started mining some LiteCoins but noticed the value is significantly lower than BTC currently.  I was thinking that the value might rise sharply as BTC did, but was wondering what other people think about this?  If this is going to be the case, then I should invest in purchasing some LTC right now while I am getting my workers up and running.

Thoughts?

There is no single answer to your question - it's a good one!

Even bitcoins, arguably the most stable of all crypto currencies, can still swing widely in value. It comes down to risk. BTC has high risk with the possibility of good return. LTC carries very high risk and has the possibility of phenomenal return. Other, not as popular crypto currencies, carry ridiculous risk and investing in them is better described as gambling. You could lose everything you put into them ("pump and dump and some describe it) or make 10,000:1 on your investment.

You obviously agree that crypto currencies are here to stay, otherwise you would not be on this board, nor would you be mining. My advice is to invest only what you can afford to lose - absolutely nothing more than that. And invest in at least two such currencies - it hedges bets and increases the shot at least one will do well for you.  BTC seems the safest, so I'd suggest that be one of them.

Best of luck with your mining, and with your decision!

Id say LTC is a good way to go right now but it could fall before it rises... so its still risky.

Some say it might be wise to invest some in LiteCoin right now, but never invest more than you can lose in anything - and diversify!

It is the only possible second chance to catch the same action in the rise of price that BitCoin has. This is what is drawing people towards it.

I have a feeling it might be more of a victim of speculation than BTC was.

Yes, but even if it moves to $10 you about triple your investment. Having it reach the $10 mark is not impossible, if not higher. Like mentioned above, what needs to happen is for the exchanges to pick it up.

Litecoin, is the best choose.
More fast than btc, and for sur price will skyrocket.
Gox already confirmed they will add ltc soon.

I believe that we have seen all the big price moves in BitCoin for a while. The price will steadily move up or down from here. 1,200 might take a very long time to reach, if ever.

I think I have decided on buying a small fortune of Litecoins from everything I've read so far... I have confidence in this currency and hate myself for not buying BTC several months ago when I was only 1 click away from doing so...

So now my question is:  Where is a trusted source for obtaining LTC?  Paypal would probably be my payment method, or credit card if it's accepted.

Nobody here will accept credit card or paypal because it is reversible.

Here is my problem I would like to buy around 500 LTC but for USD because I don´t have any cryptocurrency in that amount.
But I do not want to be using BTC-E after I have red some threads about them here I do not want to put any money there. Also I just do not believe Russians and very poor support as I have read multiple times (no offense to Russians but lots of Russians are scammers.)

Do you think that jump in LTC price will be right after adding them on Mt.gox? I would buy them there but I am afraid about LTC jumping to 5-6 after added to Mt.gox and that is too high and also from $3 to $30 it is 10 fold and from 6 to 30 it is just 5 fold so huge difference...

What is the best way to get from USD to LTC?
Thanks

Mt Gox will not add LTC (light coin for at least awhile)

I think it may crash some it also has alot of coins and inflation coming total 82,000,000 ever Lightcoins to 21,000,000 BTC
Consider some MNC at mcxnow.com it will only ever have 10,000,000

my 2 cents:  Smiley

Save 10% off your BTC orders for life: https://CampBX.com/register.php?r=BGD3NFJqhE9 on the American exchange. Gox is also down alot too.

I love the idea of trading on CBX anyway.  Using multiple platforms allows the trader to vary her position and avoid outages associated with any single marketplace.  Lower volume, open depth chart, and ease of dwolla integration make CBX ideal for newbies IMO.  PWI.
