What is the best and trusted wallet for lots of altcoins?
I think its safe to say that the majority of altcoins we currently have are ethereum based coins which makes https://www.myetherwallet.com/ wallet one of the best and most used wallets today, thanks of its simple to use interface and almost instant sync feature.

For the other altcoins, the devs develop their own wallets which are unique to every project

I personally use MEW. It's functional and can be trusted. Also it's supported by a lot airdrops and so on...

Ifyou search on google that what is the best wallets for altcoin then you will find some good wallet but I think you should use the only wallet which is recommended by the altcoin developers. Like almost every altcoin developers are recommending myetherwallet, im, metamask, mist. So, they are very good for altcoins no doubt. But you have to keep secret & secure your wallet by own, I mean private key.

Though I am using the only myetherwallet for the erc20 based altcoins.  Cool

The wallet you will use really depends on what coins you would like to store. For example, not all wallets are storing or supporting the same coins. It's not uncommon that you will need a different wallet for each coin you own depending on what kind of coin it is and on what network it's operating. Most of the time if the coins are using a different blockchain it becomes difficult for wallet developers to integrate them into their wallets, that's why developers are very selective when choosing what coins to add to their wallet. Some wallets that I like personally is MEW or my ether wallet, which supports all kind of ERC20 tokens, which run on Ethereum, and what I like as well is Exodus, which supports various tokens including BTC. Have a look at both of them what coins they support, hopefully you'll find what you're looking for.

What is the best and trusted wallet for lots of altcoins?

If u want store u erc-20 token and altcoins , i suggest using metamask , jaxx or myetherwallet.
but im using myetherwallet for 6month and working correctly , easy for use and friendly User interface.
always backup your keystore/private key on safe place and dont tell anyone about your private key , dont download any untrusted software or qt wallet because some application will have malicious virusses.

The first thing you should do before looking for an altcoin wallet is to determine what types of altcoins do you have and what type of security do you want to have. If you have common altcoins like the popular ones and you want also a safe wallet then you can just buy a hardware wallet which is definitely the best type of wallet.

I prefer paper wallets. Just print the private key, delete the rest and you are good to go. :-)
All altcoin have thier own wallet before asking what wallet is safe to use, we need to know first what coin are you want to store before we can give you suggestions what kind of wallet it is.

MyEtherWallet is the best for Ethereum. I have been using for some time, without any problem.

Better to use the official wallets of coins. I think they are more secure.

For ethereum I would say the best wallet is MEW or MyEtherWallet. Provides you with complete access to your wallet by providing you private keys. It also does not holds any private key for any wallet with itself.

What is the best wallet for cold storage?

For bitcoin cold storage, the safest way is to hold your coins in your hard drive with bitcore 0.15.1 either for altcoins i think the best actual wallet is cryptpay with the most secure protocole for a cell phone. Many other good coins are not legitime with counterparty or ethereum wallet, so it's also better so install the wallet software into the computer. this sector is still under develeppment and we may see new wallets appearing in the near future due to the massive integration to the cryptoworld.
