I think the number one answer and the most common one would be MyEtherWallet or MEW as they call it. And it is! It has a variety of ways on how do you want to keep your wallet safe and it is ERC20 compatible (which most of the tokens are), and it accepts most of the altcoins circulating nowadays so I think MEW can be your best bet.

I would recommend ledger nano as a trusted wallet with support of many altcoins.

I think that original wallet which supported by developers of each altcoin the best and safest. If you are talking about ERC tokens, that I think that Myetherwallet is enough safe and very convenient.

I have been using Myetherwallet since I first entered this forum and for me, Myetherwallet is still the best for now. However, actually every wallet is good, almost all of the existing wallets have their own advantages. but I feel comfortable using MEW so I don't think of moving to another.

it is very simple to use
it is safe and  secure
but I suggest that you should not use your private key to access your account often
Only when necessary.

IT depends, but if that is ERC20 token then i will choose MEW and METAMASK...
i am using them since i started doing cyprto.
if that is a NEP5 token then nothing to choose but use neon..
and there are different wallets with different blockchain.

If this is a coin, then of course it has its own wallet, and if the token is on blockchain of the Ethereum, then I prefer hardware wallets.

Most coins have wallets specially made for it. But for ERC-20 coins, i'll advice you download an imtoken wallet or mywetherwallet. They are really nice especially imtoken, you can actually import other ERC-20 wallets into it via passphrases or private keys

If it is safe you want, then there is paper wallet. Just print a lot and save it everywhere so you don't lose it. Pretty sure you will lose it lol. Also, hardware wallets are of a choice. Not too expensive but if you are broke then I have nothing for you. MyEtherwallet seems to be the choice for me.
