Trying to sell a small amount (<1 BTC) at coinbase and getting a message "Buys and sells are currently paused. Please try again in a few minutes." Is this happening to anyone else? Is this rather common and just the first time that I've encountered it? I know they meet their buy limits a lot though this is the first time that I've had a sell that I couldn't submit.

Yes, just happened to me as well. It's more than a little bit annoying, especially since they spring it on you just as you click the button. It would be nice if at least they had a big sign posted on the main page saying buying and selling is paused... and perhaps explaining why.

"Coinbase is the simplest way to buy, use, and accept Bitcoin."
It's been hours now and Coinbase still has buying and selling "paused" for a few minutes.
No notification on their blog or their site.
Not a way to instill confidence in Coinbase.

Agreed, having to relogin every few minutes and go through the whole ordeal to discover nothing has changed is very annoying.

Still "paused". I'm getting a new concept of how many minutes fit inside "a few".

Just my luck. First time cashing in my Bitcoins. Mtgox stuck on "dwolla (verifying)" and Coinbase "paused". Fucking Vircurex can't keep their shit secure.

Still down for me. BTW, here's an interesting attempt by someone else to sell their bitcoins that could possibly suggest manipulative practices by coinbase: http://www.brandonorndorff.com/bitcoin/exchanges/coinbase-buys-and-sells-are-currently-paused/Not hard evidence by any means but could be possible that they only will let you sell once bitcoins have gone down below a threshold that they set to give you less money and increase the gap between what they will let you buy them them for and what you *can* sell them for for increased profit margins. Anyway I'm going to stop transferring bitcoins to them for a while until I regain confidence in their service or they post an update acknowledging their current paused state. Edit: Just got a sell in. Seems there are small windows for making sells possibly *sigh*

If Coinbase isn't buying at $121, it seems that the market is set to be on a relative plateau for awhile.

They closed the funding round so no longer have to pretend like they actually have a service to offer. Or a business model. Or pretty much anything.
