Where devs describe their coins and highlight any key features? I know most are clones and maybe won't have much to say but still is there anything like that?

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

YaCoin should specify it's Scrypt-Chacha(N,1,1) and SHA3, and "long term" CPU only. You can't mine it with regular scrypt miners.
