i am still not sure about the bitcoin price drop "a lot" part but in case that happens the result is the most obvious one! LTC will go to the moon.

think about it. LTC has SegWit, it is  the copy of bitcoin. it has already activated the Lightning network (i am 80% sure about it!) and it has been around for a very long time (about 5 years i believe).

and so far in the altcoin market that everything is RED we can see LTC is still the same price with a high volume and compared to last week it is even higher.

The first place is bitcoin, second is ethereum and the third is LTC. I think a lot of this caused by the UASF and especially the mother of greedy crypto politician such as jihan wuu. Too many people get rekt for their portfolios caused by this bad news.

maybe it is just me but i see blood on the streets either way for the time being. these are just news for the market maker
the dumps has been happening for about a month now and like always this is no different either. weak hands get shaken out and whales pick up the pieces after the storm and get richer every time.
this is for before that date and because of the uncertainty.

as for the outcome any of these proposals that don't gain enough support but becomes a thing will lead to even more blood on the streets. doesn't matter if it is BIP141, 148, 149 or btc1. and Bitmaincoin is just a joke anyways.
bottom line is i honestly can not see anything good coming out of a fork with low support. i say either gain >95% support or leave bitcoin be the same.

People are running for cover, and in a cryptoworld the US dollar is that cover (the dollar in the cryptoworld is the same as gold in real life). Obviously, the dollar won't give you high returns if you just keep it (very much like gold) even when you lend your dollars (loan rates went down tremendously last weeks), so some folks are searching for alternatives. And Litecoin hits the nail right on the head in this department. People are selling bitcoins and buying some litecoins, that's why its price is so resilient (unlike other altcoins)

IMO, BTC will be the winner. None of the other alts have even one-tenth of the userbase of BTC. Even if something bad happens in August, BTC will remain at the top. Another thing to remember is that whenever BTC drops, so does the other alts (perhaps even more sharply than the BTC).

I can't believe I m saying this but given the emotional circus surrounding bitcoin,Fork..no fork, China miners issue..etc at this point Ripple is making more sense to me.More speed,no blockchain issues has an explorer etc.So my money is on Ripple in the long term...

But I don't see why an alt should be the winner?
Historically speaking it was never a good period for alts either xD

Bitcoin is a core currency, so we have all the bases to believe in. In addition, I am quite impressed with the evolution of ETH and LTC, which is considered to be the strongest coin in The present moment, therefore, is not too surprising if they are one of the winning currencies.

There are too many options here, however, I think bitcoin core is always strong in everyone's beliefs, besides, segwit2x is also a good method that is worth it.

Well, if Bitcoin fails in next time to testing SegWit2x, LTC is one of altcoin can replace for this fails, Charlee will continue PR again =)).

That is what happened/happens with Bitcoin. On the altcoin side, I see real blood, that means, a crash that will take them several months or years to recover, if they recover at all.

There are differences. If BTC1/Segwit2x "wins" the battle of this summer (northern hemisphere ) then we will already see that several days before August 1. That means that around this date I don't expect too much movement to the downside, and a bull run is likely. But in this case, there will be a crash in September/October because of the uncertainty about the 2MB hard fork. But it's unlikely it goes below $2000 (or $1850) then.

In the case BIP148 wins and a split becomes likely, then I expect a more harsh "climate" in late July and August and probably a crash down to the old $1350 high or even further down.

Ripple as a value proposition outside pumpage doesn't appear to exist to me. No bank is going to use something exposed to market forces. As with all these alts all these 'xxx is adopting us' = adapting the code and buggering off.

If Bitcoin splinters or gets taken over by a bunch of suits then your best bet is dollars and then turning them into a bunch of car washes.

After reading your post, I have decided to make an investment in LTC. Litecoin is looking very attractive, and strong as of now. Also, in future I will be making investments in the Jihancoin or Bitmaincoin (whatever name you guys wan to call it). There is a good chance that if SegWit2x fails, then Jihancoin can give us huge ROI.

If Bitcoin see a very big price drop then all of the other coins will go down in market capitalization. That is the nature of the market. All the altcoins you listed do not have real world usage except for BTC. But if I had to choose then I believe LTC has a good chance only of BTC is not in that list.

I also like to add that I believe XMR is better than all those altcoins in your list.
