To be honest I am not scared to hold my btc until august 1 because if there will be surge after august 1 it will be a huge success and if there would be downfall after august 1 then i will hold it and will wait for the price to rise.

i don't scared with august 1, i still want to hold my bitcoin, i want to see what is happen in that date. if bitcoin price is down, then i can buy again but if bitcoin price is up, then i can sell in any high price that i want. its the same with my altcoins and i don't want to sell too soon because of my portfolio is down to bottom. its better to hold my altcoin than to cut loss because my bitcoin in the end is not increase and only get reduce.

Well i don't scare to hold until August 1st even my bitcoins be an altcoin because of the activation segwit2x on bitcoin's network
because actually i have made calculated about risk investing in bitcoins,
 i have made investing not in bitcoins only some my money to be invested on altcoins are like ethereum so the risk losing money can be minimalized because i don't investing in one coin.

Same with you, i made investing in some altcoin not only bitcoin. I still have chance to make profit when bitcoin price going down, but sometime i got double loss when bitcoin and altcoin going down together like this time.
I'll hold some to see what will happen after august 1 and some of them i'll use for trading altcoin. I also have learning about risky in bitcoin, when sometime i must lost some% of my money i dont scare because i know its risky investing in bitcoin.

i think in the future we must have reserve capital on fiat currency to anticipate the condition like this, but i think the down trend of all of digital coins will be end soon, because the price are starting stable right now, that is mean the price will be going up again.

I prefer to sell bitcoin and wait till 1 august my friend also suggest this. indeed the decrease of almost all cryptocurrency values makes me a little tense but I'm not scared in this case.

Well, I am not really scared of August the first, since I have all my bitcoin on a hardware wallet and I have all my private keys, which means that when the hard fork comes, I will have full control of my bitcoin, unlike online wallets. Segwit should solve a lot of problems that are related to transaction fees, and should make bitcoin better and smoother to use. Some people I know are selling bitcoin right now, and then re buying after August the first, just in case of what happens, but I don't think this is a good idea, due to how low bitcoin has dropped now, the price right now is just above 2k and this seems to be pre segwit panic.

Buying bitcoin after august 1 has more risk losing money because, if the chain split happen, there will be 2 chains right? Now, whatever chain is the longest chain in blocks will be the main chain and the other one will be discarded so, if you buy bitcoin on uasf chain, and the old chain is the longest, the uasf coin you bought will be discarded so, you will lose funds same thing with old chain. If i were you don't do anything until the split is complete.

I am selling my bitcoins and ETH once it goes back up.

Selling the BTC probably this week. I see it going down, good opportunity to get back in for cheaper. If August crashes we will see it go back down to sub 1,500, that is likely where it belongs for awhile.

BIP148 is UASF in this case. UASF is a generic term for User Activated Soft Fork, so the USAF this time is under protocol BIP148.

BIP148 is the rules and regulations of how the fork should happen.

Here the two lines of the op is showing that the OP is still a newbie because , He is going to sell before 1 August and then buy after the completion of the launch of segwit2x .
Actually here op needed to buy more and more btc and sell after the first week of August , because before the hardfork many people week get more in panic and surely will sell Thier btc , so take a chance to make profit   
Here the price of the Bitcoin will be minimum before the 1 August and after the complete of the hardfork the value of the Bitcoin will get rise sharply without control of any small limit .
In the second line of the op ( quoted by me ,) OP don't need to sell the altcoins because no where will go altcoins because Thier algorithm is different from btc , so more better is to have your money in another coins than btc .

The one who's afraid is the one that didn't trust bitcoin. I think bitcoin somehow proves itself to the market and it survive many dumps. Better hold it until or after August 1st, we never know what will really happen, what meant to happen will happen.
