Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Would be interesting to see what happens to NYC price if no one sells today and only buys occur.

One of the thing that will also increase the value of this coin is bringing in more exchanges.

I will suggest NovaExchange.com and CoinExchange.io at least for now.

CoinGather does not really have enough members trading in it. It is a small market. The above mentioned market are bigger and better.

When it’s up to businesses and entrepreneurs, legal affairs and all that kind of stuff is really matter… Hence I strongly recommend you to do the following. Add or somehow mention in your open letter to merchants that utilizing NYC and other cryptos solely for the purchase or sale of goods or services is pure and legal in NYC. That’s what they should know:
According to DFS (department of financial services) New York codes, rules and regulations act, Part 200, section 200.3. License (c), (2) The following Persons are exempt from the licensing requirements:

“Merchants and consumers that utilize Virtual Currency solely for the purchase or sale of goods or services or for investment purposes”

more details http://www.dfs.ny.gov/legal/regulations/adoptions/dfsp200t.pdf  (page 7)

Is there a known issue with the latest (2017?) wallet?

We have removed 2017 update from nycoin.net until more devs support NewYorkCoin. It appears dev who was helping with update (mooncoin dev) was no friend of NewYorkCoin. Original code/wallet works great and pool mining operator has everything running smoothly. Block explorer working. Network round time is 23 seconds. Multiple nodes syncing wallets. PR campaign and merchant awareness campaign ready to blast in October. NYC will be undiscovered for only a moment longer...

NYC NEEDS WORKING ANDROID & MAC WALLETS

P.S. 4.5 b NYC for sale at coingather. Everyone else holding tight? That is only 3 percent of supply. It will get chomped up very very quickly with any exposure. Then what?...

Let's make a community effort to get listed on more legit exchanges (not ones that charge for a listing)

GOLDEN 3:
Poloniex
Cex-io
Bitfinex

+

Bleutrade (likely easiest one since daily trading volume still low)

Shouldn't someone registered on the exchange start a poll for NYC listing here first https://support.cex.io/hc/en-us/community/topics/200082417-Feature-Requests ?

Then post voting link here.

PR CAMPAIGN has started and will continue thru Thanksgiving on a weekly basis.

We are getting interest from letter posted to business owners.

I think branding NYC vs "NewYorkCoin" may attract more of a worldwide following. I think it's easier for people in India or China or California to invest in a fast, usable coin named NYC vs "NewYorkCoin". What do you all think?

NYC for what? Nice Young Coin, or Now You Can?   Wink

Seriously, you may rebrand NewYorkCoin to NYC but you might as well loose part of identity. Now there’s a story behind nycoin, clear understanding of target audience, good naming etc.
As for now, you want nycoin to proliferate worldwide while it never succeeded yet in NYCity itself, can’t really say if it is right or wrong.

Nevertheless generally I like your idea. Going worldwide might bring some significant capitalization impact. We’ll definitely need branding professional to create new vision and new “story” for NYC, new website, graphics, and logos and so on. If there’s no one to make things done at the moment you better postpone that until better times.

P.S. you should consider drafting WP as well.
