I have Windows 7 for mining but there are always some problems like freezing, ethminer/zecminer/etc. stopped working and many other problems. That´s why I wanted to know how to get 100 % uptime (it is annoying to restart them).

Is it possible to autostart the computer and autostart the mining bat EVEN when the miner is freezing or crashing? What is your trick? Thanks a lot.
Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

If you're getting freezing, crashing, or other problems, then it needs to be fixed.

These issues are usually related to overclocking too much, undervolting too much, or your PSU is too weak.
If the miner is plugged into a socket that shared by multiple items, you can max out on power pretty quickly.

Just for reference, most U.S. cables are 15amp 120v = 1,800 watts. So if you have a 1200w miner, your pc running, monitors, phone charger, and vaccuum cleaner, you will quickly overload the circuit.

It's best to put them on their own dedicated 200-240v circuit.

I have my miners running for 300+ hours before needing to restart. Some get to 500+ hours.

Albeit I only had 2 gpus going in my rig, I just kept them at the stock settings. In my experience with the updated AMD drivers and an open air flow case I never had an issue. Would go days at a time without a hiccup and I would never have to shut them down except when I was using the compy.

go to the start menu and type shell:startup. Create a shortcut to the .bat file, and stick it in this folder. This will make the bat run automatically on startup.

You can also add an infinite loop to your .bat file

Example:

:Start
miner.exe -u ogiherogiheroiwhroh etc. blah blah blah
goto Start

This will make the miner keep opening upon crashing. Hope this helps..

PS, if you want it to run invisibly on startup, create a VBS file that launches the bat, and stick a shortcut of that file in shell:startup  Grin

With one of these...

Best thing I have ever bought for mining.   Love that they auto restart if frozen or that I can restart my computers from anywhere.

Have you tried a better operating system? If you read through the 'help me' threads on this forum like 90% of them are people running Windows. I run linux based mining distros on dozens of machines and have nearly zero issues once they are setup and mining. I have machines that have been hashing for weeks without even being looked at.

Stop buying industrial miners, running them at home, and then complaining about the noise.

While, I'm sure what you experienced is true... Linux is not any more or less stable than Windows in my experience.  It's really down to the quality of your hardware, your power, your over/underclocks, and the mining app stability.  I've had windows rigs that run for weeks, and the only reason they get rebooted is because I'm trying something new, like switching out GPUs, general maintenance, and the like.

There's nothing wrong with Linux, it has one thing going for it... it's free (unless you buy something like ethOS, PiMP, or SimpleMiner).

Linux is not any more or less stable than Windows in my experience.

In well over 20 years of experience with LINUX, I have found it to be MUCH more stable on good working hardware than Windows.

Pushing overclocks excessively, not providing enough power to handle the spikes that ALWAYS happen in GPU mining, and not keeping the cards cool enough can cause stability issues on ANY OS though.

You can try Winminer that can solve the problems

i think you should check you RAM first, if your RAM is less than 8 or 4, then the process is heavy and sometimes it makes crashes. using windows 7 is fine but needs to support with RAM 8 GB to work properly. but i think its impossible to get 100% because the process need much of power to work.

i think you can trying to create a .bat file with command to autostart the mining process but if the miner is freezing or crashing, you need to close and start again with the .bat file.

May be set the time first on the clock and then carefully keep the GPU on the clock and balance it. If you can prop it up using a book so you will get 100% uptime. Sorry for the jokes Cheesy
