Why Always Bitcoin?

I still do not understand the current obsession with regulating Bitcoin. They claim it's to help put an end to online money laundering and other cyber crimes but why aren't they equally obsessed about Fiat?

What if there are hidden agendas, like phasing out paper currencies, forcefully uniting all countries and handover control to more evil entity?
I have some paper money on me that I can EASILY use to buy some harmful drugs and weapons yet no Northkorea-like government is monitoring how I spend this money. A responsible government would rather be where the stuff are purchased and help solving crimes. Trying hard to Police everything (without caring a bit about the word "privacy") is a sign of desperation & tyranny.
 I learned they are working hard to phase out cash for their cashless agenda. I bet over 70% of World governments will adopt the cashless thing too.

I have never used a Debit card online not that I don't understand it .. it instead doesn't feel safe to me.  My adoption of online currency started when I discovered Bitcoin. Bitcoin/Blockchain is the only thing that makes sense & feels natural to me.  Wonder why they are now trying hard to rewrite Bitcoin with some rogue codes.  

You wrote such a long post but missed out a simple part why it's always Bitcoins. Tax as simple as it gets, cut the BS of Regulation all they want is to find ways to get more taxes out of the public, in short more revenues for them, and gives them more excuses to conduct a enquiry against a person, the very reason satoshi created Bitcoin is being destroyed, and Mark my words down the line when our children will ask us, when Bitcoin was being destroyed by government, segwit drama what we're you doing.

I think OP is thinking about the negative side of bitcoin and that it has a hidden agenda in achieving world currency domination, it is sound like the work of the Illuminati, but let's just be serious about this, I don't think bitcoin does have something like that, and bitcoin was made from the start with no value at all but it is push by it's very own creator and founder to probably increase and mine for a currency that will signifies a great value until today, even if others are really using bitcoin for bad purpose and criminal act, it gives many users the edge in obtaining money for themselves that is significantly reasonable to achieved, and bitcoin is not just all negative, it has a positive quality that is why many people liked it,

The main point of this regulation is to control Bitcoin, the governments don't like anything that they can't control, the usage of Bitcoin and fiat is almost the same, Bitcoin also can be tracked, but it is harder to tracked, and to be honest it is easier to do transactions with fiat because you can do it using cash without any internet record

Which is why governments are trying to eliminate cash as well, it is funny, the government creates something like cash and then they want to eliminate it and force us to use electronic payments and then the people find a way to do that without the them and they want to eliminate that too.

I clearly understand your position but the way it is there is hardly anything anyone can do about it simply because of the fact the government have control over everything and the best way out is just to either conform and find a way to do your thing below the radar or just don't do it at all. If you have cash to buy things, what if you get sick and need to go to the hospital, will you also avoid that? Government all over the world has been trying endlessly to turn people to dummies all in the name of protecting us from ourselves and that's where I see bitcoin coming as a threat which they wont give up easily on.

Great logic given though! I agree with you pal. Governments all over the world are trying to rule their public as robots. They want us to be their puppets. In this situation, bitcoins are posing threat to their tyranny because of its decentralized nature.

Yes I also think that bitcoin is better than any other currency. Why because paper money cannot be used outside your home country. You will have to change your local currency into dollars and the dealer will receive his percentage and you will not receive the exact price. But on the other hand if someone has bitcoin in his wallet, he can use it anywhere in the world without exchanging his money.

Governments don't like to have things out of their control that's why they created banks. So they can tell to the people what to do by applying what they call monetary policies, the central bank of country decides which is better for the country so the people are forced to abide by these monetary policies which many may dislike. In bitcoin there is no one to give orders or to tell anyone what is the best money politics for the country, in bitcoin everyone decides for himself what to do. That is the reason why governments, banks and other big multi national corporation always want to regulate bitcoin, to control it.

Simply because bitcoin is effective, efficient and secure. It has all the potetials to grow bigger and bigger in the future. It gives opportunities for small time business minded people and is also profitable when in terms of signature campaigns. It is a good return of investment in general.

If a governmet really wanted to control Bitcoin, I think there is a way to do it: by buying lots of it gradually. Being a Bitcoin whale I feel offers lots of control, and is not that hard if you have lots of money (although it is becoming harder at current prices)

Of course it's a good investment opportunity for would-be investors and they can greatly profit from it if they don't hesitate in investing their income into bitcoin and refuse to listen to the negative news and propaganda against bitcoin.

I understand your sentiments and actually this is something that most if not all people in the bitcoin community clearly understood. However, the thing is we really cannot do something about it. Well we at some point may be able to do something but it will not matter, it will just be overlooked by the government. you see the thing is there is no government that is not corrupt. Every country have someone that is corrupt, some countries it may be less corrupt but still there is no government that has a clear conscience putting people first other than themselves. I think the main reason that the government keep on regulating bitcoin is that because they see profit in it. HUGE profit so what they do is that they sugar coat it with words like it is to avoid money laundering or other illegal activities. The thing is if a person wanted to do illegal things he/she will do that regardless of what law is there to stop him.

In fact, that only happens in countries that have accepted bitcoin as a currency, most of the sub-states, bitcoins exist and operate in secret. Recently, my government announced that they would grant bitcoin and all other altcoins. A bad thing is happening in my country.
